Md, bad news. The Brass A$$ in Newport is permanently closing. Horrors! Have to find a new strip joint. Any suggestions?
Thank you. I appreciate it.Sorry about your mom. Best wishes.
Bob Gibson was known for his motivation to win. At the end of his career when he was washed up, a mediocre player homered off him. He never faced that hitter again till an old timers game years later. He hit him in the back with the first pitch. Not a ha ha that is funny pitch, a real pay back pitch. The offsides call in soccer is the worst rule in any major sport imo. Get rid of that one and scoring gets more frequent.
I have 2 co-ed softball games tonight in Chickasha OK. Hope they come motivated this week.
VH -- End of an era. Or error. I wish I could say I did not know that establishment of which you speak. But I had more than my share of experiences at the Brass *** back in the 1970s. The older brother of my best friend in high school was some sort of fixer or hanger-on for the half-assed gangsters that ran those Newport clubs back in the 70s, so I was there pretty often, which would have disgraced by parents.Md, bad news. Thank you!Good morning everyone.
It's good to catch up here. Sorry to hear about your Mom @KFuqua.
Enjoy your July 4th weekend!
Was filling out my water bill numbers for this month so I went out to the front yard to lift the lid off of the area that has the meter to read it. When I went to put my finger in the little hole made for opening the lid, a bunch of tiny spiders (babies) came rushing out. When I opened the lid there where a lot more and webbing covering the entire hole. The mama? Black Widow. I told my wife who hates and has a big fear of spiders. She immediately got up freaking out and got some insect spray and went out to spray all around the outside and inside of the meter area.
Mine would have done the same, but she would have made me do the spraying. Was filling out my water bill numbers for this month so I went out to the front yard to lift the lid off of the area that has the meter to read it. I don't even know what this means. There's a transmitter attached to the top of our meter cover & data goes wirelessly to water company. No human has read our meter in over a decade. Was filling out my water bill numbers for this month so I went out to the front yard to lift the lid off of the area that has the meter to read it. Pitcher. Been pitching for many, many years now. Most do not want to be that close to the batter, but I wear a helmet with face mask, shin guards and a cup so I am pretty safe and have enough meat on me to protect the other areas.
Back in the late seventies and early eighties, there was a pro softball league. Louisville had a team (KY Bourbon maybe?). Before that they had a national rated amueter team . I think it was Jiffy's or something. I met one of their players as his wife was one of my regular customers. He was a very large man. i forget his name. If interested in slow pitch history, Google Bill Gatti. He is one of the all time greats. He played football at UL, then got into softball.Pitcher. Been pitching for many, many years now. Glad you are ok.About 3:30 today it was 99 degrees here in the Berg. My son called (police officer) and told us that if we had anything that would blow away, move it, winds in the southern part of the county were 50 plus miles an hour! By the time we got everything square away the wind hit here, temperatures went from 99 to 75 in 45 minutes, then we heard a loud bang and our power went out, a limb out of a tree broke out a hit the lines and snapped a the pole in half! They are working on it now, maybe back on in a hour or so hopefully!! It is so quiet, like when the ice storm hit a few years ago!
Thank you, just checked and they say our power should be restored by 11:30Glad you are ok.

Storm, have you ever had a bear that needed to be trapped and moved?Good morning everyone
I had a good visit with my brother, SIL, and their 3 year old granddaughter (my great niece). They were really hoping to see a bear, but it was just too hot while they were here. If only they had waited a few more hours before heading home they would have seen this one. It put on a show..... scratching like a dog, climbing the tree, drinking out of one of our garden ponds, and turning over some of our border rocks. We also had another one come through after dark...
Have great 4th of July and sit down and enjoy the day

I've had one (and her 3 juvenile delinquents) that needed to be persuaded to move along and don't come back. She needed persuaded 3 times before the pain in the rear reached her brain.Storm, have you ever had a bear that needed to be trapped and moved?
How are the reflexes now at that close range?Pitcher. Been pitching for many, many years now. Most do not want to be that close to the batter, but I wear a helmet with face mask, shin guards and a cup so I am pretty safe and have enough meat on me to protect the other areas.
Reflexes are still pretty good, but seeing the ball off of the bat is a little fuzzier than in the past. I get most of the balls hit at me. Had a couple of line drives hit my wrist above my glove in the same place about 2 months apart at the end of last year in a snowball tournament in December and in a February freeze ball tournament. Tried to turn my hand to get the glove on the ball but was a bit too low for the hit and it hit my wrist. Still experience pain on occasion from those hits. I wrap the wrist now for protection. Pinky finger does not close easily now to the ring finger. It takes effort to bring it next to it. Probably nerve damage. How are the reflexes now at that close range?
I was mostly a second baseman but could play short and occasionally 3rd. I loved the fielding part of 3rd (ranging far over to the left and stealing the play from short), but that throw would aggravate my "fisherman's elbow". Wish we had some kind of church league or something here while I can still move.
