I hope your right. I have been a fan for over 70 years, and I also donate enough to get Final Four seats, SEC seats, and the good seats at the football games, where we are fed and I can buy a drink. I call a spade, a spade. In March last year, Coach Cal was out coached against K State. I thought we would have more then one NC after 9 years. I'm not advocating get rid of Cal, but maybe we need to keep players more then one year.

Every year, his classes are ranked among the best in the country. Every year, UK basketball players are drafted and paid $millions by NBA teams.

We just upset AND EASILY OUTCLASSED #9 North Carolina last night on a neutral court.

Do you remember (maybe you don't) the shape our basketball program was in when Cal got here? Open your eyes.

I definitely remember the shape it was in. Like a lot of people, I wanted Tubby gone. I also know Cal has had the no. 1 or no. 2 recruiting class all 9 years, but that hasn't turned into NC's. Anyone who says they didn't think we would win more then 1 NC in the past 9 years is lying. I also know that NO coach is bigger then UK basketball. Do I want Cal fired, absolutely not. Do I want another NC, damn right. Villanova, Conn., and Duke all have two in Cal's 9 years, and even NC, and Loserville won one. Why did we beat North Carolina, because we did not depend on the "Dribble Drive," but outside shots and getting the ball down the court in a hurry. The stick that stirred the drink was Hagan. Hopefully, Cal will let him run the floor. We also shot more outside shots then normal, which is a change. Because some of us are critical of some things Cal does, such as not calling a TO against Seton Hall, does not mean we want him gone.

Why do people always screw up the term fair weather fans? It was coined because of fans only showing up when the weather is good.......

it doesnt mean fans being upset when the team loses..... it means the fans not caring and being absent when there are down times...

This is sheer dumbassery. Anyone who knows anything about the nature of a single elimination tournament would not expect multiple titles. And in the beginning, everyone SAID THE EXACT OPPOSITE: you cannot rely on freshmen, turn your team over every year, and win a national title. Then Calipari does it, and suddenly he’s a failure for not doing it more often. Unadulterated horse manure.

You must not read well. I answered specifically what I believe he’s below average at. I don’t think he’s better than average as a strategic coach.

He’s great at managing egos. He’s great recruiting. He’s great at handling the media. He’s great at handling pressure. Again, brush up on your reading skills.

If you think a win Saturday is suddenly going to make me think Cal is now a great mastermind at X and O’s,
you’re badly mistaken.

I don’t think you know me too well. No one is going to intimidate me in any way, shape, or form.

Hall of Fame? I’m fine with that. Probably needs another title to convince most that its deserved.

Joe Namath is in the Hall of Fame. I can tell you that he has zero business being in the Hall of Fame. His lifetime QB rating was 65.5. He wouldn’t sniff a starting job on any NFL team had he played in this era.

So that analogy you tried to pull on me is also laughable.

Oh, he was at UMASS, but in the second half of the Memphis tenure he became a guy who designed a system to bring in phenoms and then step out of their way. This is so off base. Cal took UMass....UMass...one more time, UMass to #1, brink of a title. He had Camby and a bunch of so and so's. He gets every drop of sweat and effort out of those who listen and accept his coaching. If they don't, then they don't belong here.

Cal is an amazing coach- it is ridiculous that our fans question him repeatedly, specifically regarding his abilities.

Sorry...he has same record as Rupp with stiffer competition. I like your posts usually, but you are dead wrong. Cal can coach basketball....strategically and otherwise. Embarrassing that we have a bunch of fans saying otherwise. Gonna push the guy out.

UK has exactly four titles in the past 60 years. Why would you expect more than one in the last nine years?

Somewhere on this friggin board like 2 weeks ago I tried to explain this but no one gets it. I broke it down decade by decade.

Cal is a legend and somehow what he does isn't good enough. It is really mind blowing.

Vance Walberg was the inventor of the "Dribble Drive," but in two years as the HC at Pepperdine, his record was 14-35. The "Dribble Drive" doesn't use a lot of plays, but primarily lets a player go one on one to get to the basket. Offenses change over time, but it's hard to beat, Pick and Roll, Give and Go, set screens so the player can get away from his man, double screens, back-door cuts etc. Just about any Kentucky man, who played basketball in high school knows what I'm talking about. You don't have to have the best recruits to win, but they must have discipline to run the plays.
When we won the NC, we had the No. 1 an 2 in the draft, but more important, we had a leader in Miller. We haven't had one in a few years. Hopefully one will come forward on this team. If not, It's going to be a looong year, and the booo birds will be loud and clear.

This is not true. We were the best team standing about 15 times, arguably. The system was what it was. Let’s not act like it didn’t happen while everyone else claims theirs.

I missed the part where Cal's coaching made PJ miss 12 FT's and SGA go 2-10 from the field...
