COVID hurt some programs more than others for differing reasons. Obviously with ALL new players minus Brooks...not being able to interact on campus in summer & play together really put this group behind. There is no other explanation. It's not because Cal just all of a sudden sucks. You know that but I guarantee you you're one of those that was fed up with Cal before this season ever started; THEREFORE, you're blinded by your bias & spin & interpret this bad season equals....Cal sucks at coaching now.
MSU was a preseason top 5 team. They had to make a big run to close season to just barely make tourney & then lost.
Depending on the state & circumstances of your program which differs from team to team...some benefitted from COVID protocol & others were hurt. Seems like most of the teams with a lot of returning pieces really thrived with others being down.
Please read your own post about why we sucked this year.
What part of "ALL NEW PLAYERS" do you not understand is the reason fans are upset with Cal.
This is no way to actually run a basketball program. Cal has turned the top basketball program in America into a G-league basketball camp for NBA wannabes.
IT IS NOT ABOUT ONE BAD YEAR!!!
It just took this year for many fans to actually understand the state of the program and what will happen when Cal leaves and the cupboard is bare. Or, Cal stays, and continues to miss on recruits.
Same result. That is not where UK fans want their program to be at risk every single year, having to endure 2-3 months of unwatchable basketball, losing to lower level teams that should not even be on UK'S schedule, and left hoping we can get in the NCAA.
Most fans finally understand the true state of the program.
You obviously still do not. Yet.
