Most of you sure don't know Coach Cal very well and how much he hates his first losing season if you look at his overall head coach record this was his first bad season.

Coach Cal is not a Head Coach that has this 1 bad season with so many factors in it and then run to coach at another school. Coach Cal would not leave a school like Kentucky and especially how high Cal talks about Kentucky 24x7. Coach Cal talks how great Kentucky is, the players, recruiting here, the fanbase, and how big UK is to Coach Cal. Coach Cal would make sure and return and turn this around to where it was before the last 2 seasons due to Covid-19 and get back to the Final Four and Winning it All. Coach Cal is not the type of person, head coach, etc. to go 9-16 and then try and run to another school because he doesn't like how the fanbase treats him.

Cal is tough and will comeback next season and turn this around and get back to UK making that deep run in the NCAA Tourney and getting to the Final Four and winning another Championship at Kentucky. Cal had many opportunities to leave UK just like when UCLA came knocking and he continues to say he has the best coaching job and the best basketball team & Fans in the Country. Cal will be back next year and he will get this turned around and back to winning 30+ games a season, deep run in tourney and getting back to Final Four and the best School to do that at is at KENTUCKY Basketball!!
I bet Dreaming by Blondie is your favorite song.

Funny the 68 teams that MADE the NCAA tournament had to play under the same circumstances UK did, wonder why they won more than 9 games. They had the same Covid restrictions we did yet they managed to succeed and proceed. Last I checked Izzy MADE the tourney this year, Duke didn’t but then they adopted the same bankrupt one and done system Cal runs with similar results. I never said Cal “ sucked” what I said is UK needs a change, and that just about any competent coach in America can win more than 9 games at a place like Kentucky. If you can’t see that we are in the outhouse rather than the penthouse Indon’t know what to tell you.

COVID hurt some programs more than others for differing reasons. Obviously with ALL new players minus Brooks...not being able to interact on campus in summer & play together really put this group behind. There is no other explanation. It's not because Cal just all of a sudden sucks. You know that but I guarantee you you're one of those that was fed up with Cal before this season ever started; THEREFORE, you're blinded by your bias & spin & interpret this bad season equals....Cal sucks at coaching now.

MSU was a preseason top 5 team. They had to make a big run to close season to just barely make tourney & then lost.

Depending on the state & circumstances of your program which differs from team to team...some benefitted from COVID protocol & others were hurt. Seems like most of the teams with a lot of returning pieces really thrived with others being down.

2015 showed Cal will never win another title and he lost a lot of support after.

Well...that's pretty stupid. "You went 38-1 & lost in final 4 Cal! I'm through with you!"

How stupid & foolish is that? Most years the best team does NOT win the championship. Things have to really go really well,, certainly a big luck factor. An unfortunate call here, a lucky shot there, a single costly turnover....winning a championship is very difficult, which is why we only have 8.

Look, if cal cannot win a title with a 38-0 team, with the best defense since 1987, he’s not winning another. He was up 4 with the ball, UW players were tired with their hands on their hips and cal played stall ball.

So, are you Steven's agent? You know he wouldn't come here , how?
He’s not coming back to college anytime soon IMO. Everything I’ve ever heard about him says he hates recruiting and the college game. Very happy in the pros and no reason to think he won’t get another job even if Boston gets rid of him.

Ok...but he also had no business being in the final 4 & title game in 2014 as #8 seed. That's the nature of a tournament. You can be the clear-cut favorite, even a dominant team & lose a game & be gone. 2015 UK team was not the first & will not be the last. 2012 he had the best team & did win it.

Other years you may not be that dominant team & yet it all works out to pull out a string of games & overachieve: 2011, 2014.

Again you're not being objective....just emotional, irrational reasoning.

I know all of this but look, that is a team that any other high level coach wins with. You think K is losing that game? Roy? Jay Wright?

Please read your own post about why we sucked this year.
What part of "ALL NEW PLAYERS" do you not understand is the reason fans are upset with Cal.

This is no way to actually run a basketball program. Cal has turned the top basketball program in America into a G-league basketball camp for NBA wannabes.

IT IS NOT ABOUT ONE BAD YEAR!!!

It just took this year for many fans to actually understand the state of the program and what will happen when Cal leaves and the cupboard is bare. Or, Cal stays, and continues to miss on recruits.

Same result. That is not where UK fans want their program to be at risk every single year, having to endure 2-3 months of unwatchable basketball, losing to lower level teams that should not even be on UK'S schedule, and left hoping we can get in the NCAA.

Most fans finally understand the true state of the program.

You obviously still do not. Yet.

Who put UK in that 38-0 position for you to complain about in the first place?

Louis......he’s not doing that anymore. He choked in 2015. That’s the bottom line.
You haven't answered, who put UK in the position at 38-0 for you to complain about?

Thats like crying how Jordan lost 10 games in 1996. Who do you think put them there?

Typical fan. When they lose its the coaches fault, when they win its a players glory. Stalling the game is normal procedure for EVERY coach thats ahead with a couple of mins to, its text book, its to limit the number of possessions. Every coach does the same thing.
So u want to blame Cal that they couldn't get a shot off, which isn't Cal's fault...Wisc was playing exceptional defense. Having the clock run out isn't any coaches game plan and i think you need to realize that coaches dont control players like they can on Playstation.

It was a great game. The best teams dont always win, especially in a short 40 min game with 2nd rate refs.

Cats lost when the refs counted the Wisconsin basket after the shot clock expired. An entirely different energy came in and that was it.

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/coach-cal-blew-it/amp/ Agree with you on the shot clock. The look on the Harrison’s face when they counted it is something I will never forget.

Where is the anonymous guy?

I remember a quote of his regarding someone thinking Cal would be here 10 more years. He said something like "some of you will get your wish much sooner than that."

Pretty close to where I am too.

I'm not at all confident he is willing / able to change and adapt to today's game, but he has long been an innovator (for better or worse) and deserves every chance to do so.

At the same time, if Texas comes along and plucks him away tomorrow, so be it.

As a long time huge Cal fan, I can't believe I just said that, but here we are.
He has had 6 years to turn the ship around...going to get harder to fix the problem after this year's disaster.
