But after next season the buyout is only what - about 6M less? If UK had a difficult financial decision or hard time getting that together this season (assuming Barnhart did feel that scenario out), then it wouldn't be much easier after next season, would it?I can't blame the staff it's about Cal. But, what it shows is Cal is not going to get someone better than himself or that has the experience to be a true coach to make change.
What I think should be as concerning is it would seem like this very well could be Cal's last season and thus recruiting will be a mess and when he leaves the program will be in a disaster (if it isn't already).
I have been fascinated by the animated GIF in your sig for a while now and simply must know its origin. This is exactly what I fear
You know I've been too focused on what we do and haven't done enough game planning/scouting for opponents. Don't blame these kids, blame me.Cal after the 1st round NCAA tournament loss next year:
"You know, we tried this playing tough thing. This aint us. We gotta get back to who we are. We want to be fast and finesse teams. There's a standard here."
“coaching on the fly” is being too nice. it infers possible learning in a sink or swim situation. a) he’s not learning, and if he is, he’s still not changing. b) he’s not swimming, except in a pile of money. it’s agenda driven by stubbornness. it’s worse than not being prepared. it’s purposefully neglecting what works and what doesn’t.We’ve been led to believe it’s the staffs fault, when in all actuality, it’s Calipari’s. His X’s and O’s are awful, so it doesn’t really matter who the assistants are.
Again…we’re letting a 65 year old man learn how to coach on the fly.
Already is.Mitch is going to let Cal burn this program down.
Man, I wish I could remember. It was a scene from a really old b-movie that I found on giphy a long time ago. I think I just searched for the word “bizarre” and it came upI have been fascinated by the animated GIF in your sig for a while now and simply must know its origin.
I was going to make an almost identical post. At the risk of being redundant, what gives people the hope that Cal refusing to make changes means he is retiring next year? The buyout will still be enormous and he’s not one to leave money on the table. If anyone has heard anything along those lines though I could use the hope. But after next season the buyout is only what - about 6M less? Regardless, when or if Calipari is bought out of his contract at UK, I have no concerns about recruiting. Unless Calipari drastically changes the way he builds his roster, I believe recruiting should improve with the next hire.
Holy crap, I found it! Turns out googling "woman in pink turns into monster rolls down hill" actually worked. LMAO. Pink Armadillo Attack!Man, I wish I could remember. Mitch is garbage; he's worse than Calipari. His comments were just cringe-worthy. So bad.Mitch is going to let Cal burn this program down.
You got that right MOST HATED COACH IN KENTUCKY HISTORY!Just when you think Cal couldn’t be a bigger ***, he finds a way to one-up himself. I won’t be surprised if he goes down as the most hated coach in Kentucky history.
Cal has made Mitch his cuck.
Get rid of bruiser and bring in anyone with a mindI feel like we have to make at least ONE change. Get rid of Bruiser (or Chin), and bring in a younger, fresher basketball mind.
Truly seems that wayAs I have repeatedly said. Cal makes Mitch shake in his boots.
There was a lot of smoke about how he was more concerned with being out on the town than coaching. I will say In the past two years I've been to three games at Rupp and then went across the street to Tony's for dinner after the game. In two of those games Chin was there dressed to the nines at the bar area very soon after the game.
Very small sample size, having it happen twice when I'm in Lexington basically once a year is probably a sign it happens quite often.
I think this is an admirable attitude to have. But let me give a scenario example.I'm not a Calipari lover. I'm not a Calipari hater either and I'll be rooting for him to do well as long as he is our coach. When He's gone, Ill be rooting for our next coach because if they do well that means the team is doing well too and I'm more interested in the team having success than I am about who the coach is. After all, it's about the name on the front of the jersey and not the name of the guy who is our coach.
He has far surpassed BGJust when you think Cal couldn’t be a bigger ***, he finds a way to one-up himself. I won’t be surprised if he goes down as the most hated coach in Kentucky history.
He's done more damage to the program for sure.He has far surpassed BG
In all seriousness, there's a real chance that Chin was simply tryin to "coach" the defensive scheme that Cal wanted. I don't think Cal let's Chin act as a defensive coordinator - I don't think the defensive portions of practice are solely designed and ran by Chin - no way Cal would allow that. But, it seems like for actual in-game coaching, Chin seemed to have primary responsibility amongst the ASSISTANT coaches. How can you NOT fire whoever was responsible for defense at least?
