Doesn't that money actually seem light? Who wants to find out what other naming rights for the B1G teams are getting if they have any?

Only us and Minnesota have sponsors on the stadium. Minnesota's deal was $35 million over 26 years, so about $1.34 million per year.

Alright! **** stadium! Way to go Rutgers!
Time to stop the jokes already if you love Rutgers.

The owner of that company is very accomplished and neither her or her husband attended Rutgers. She attended Amherst and Harvard and sits on committees for them. Multi billionaire.. a good friend to have.

Lets do our part and not get down on the name of her company.

SHI Stadium

I love ir because I have a very immature sense of humor.

Also, local company and twice as much money as before.

This is a ****ing disaster. Only us. DO NOT call it "S.H.I." Stadium. PLEASE. Use the full name!!!
There is no full name. The official corporate name is SHI International Corp. It used to be Software House International, but no longer.

They may finally close the "Lower Bowl":
Looks like Glenn Foley was right all along.

Obviously a very successful company in its space. Just an unfortunate name for RU's stadium.

Thanks and having their Global Headquarters in Somerset, NJ with a Piscataway connection makes this Company a great get for Hobbs.
SHI Stadium might not be a sexie name now, but once RU starts winning it will and the $#it being raised now will be forgotten

Where are the numbers?!? Why's everyone saying this is a SHI deal before we know what the numbers are? It damn well better be north of a million. And why'd I think the Highpoint deal was for 10 years?

1.25 million to start. Goes up each year.

Brett McMurphy is a low life. He always takes cheap shots at Rutgers.
He didn't just make the list, he's been on it for a long time

Actually the money seems good. Most of these deals are longer, anywhere from 10 years to 30 in that chart posted on this thread. Would you want to lock in a 30 year deal with the current state of the team? What they got was a competitive deal given the duration with a nice bump and a chance for even better money not too far down the road.

Not blaming Rutgers at all on the naming issue..

Would you prefer less money for a better name? If that’s the best deal Hobbs had he had to take it
Yes.
Give it to Barnabas for $250K, and call it Barnabas Health Stadium-The Birthplace. Great co-branding strategy for both parties. Leverage RU's major strength at the moment and it's history. Perception and message are important too, not just money.

The numbers are good. Call it whatever they want.

From the NJ.com article:

"While Rutgers didn’t officially announce the financial terms, a person familiar with the contract told NJ Advance Media it’s a 7-year deal starting at $1.25 million and increasing by $100,000 annually to $1.85 million in 2025-26.

In June 2011, Rutgers agreed to an eight-year naming rights deal with then-named High Point Solutions worth $600,000 annually. So essentially Rutgers Athletics Director Pat Hobbs more than doubled the previous stadium naming-rights amount in Year 1 and more than tripled it in Year 7."

Terps have a $20MM 25 year deal with Capital One Bank (formerly Chevy Chase Bank) for the field.

Missed that. Interesting that it's Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium. I wonder if we tried to talk our way into SHI Field at Rutgers Stadium.

Like the name or not, Hobbs worked out a good deal here if those numbers are accurate. For once, Rutgers would get the better end of the deal. Especially coming on the heels of a dreadful deal with Adidas.

That is a good amount of money. $10.85 Million. That money could come in handy at the end of this year, if not sooner.
I wouldn't assume it's a lump sum figure payable this year.

And Shifty - that's a dreadful avatar.
