The sandwich maker speaks, and several more fans around the world chime in....they beckon the great one to come out. I will make a statement then. You're welcome. I like this game. First time SP has played an opponent that wouldn't have been beaten by BMS since about 5 weeks into the season. Tuscola will be tough. We know this from the many clashes we've had with them and theirs (mountain folk stick together when it's all said and done....so no matter how rivalrous Tuscola, Pisgah, Enka, ETC. are....they all want this win for far western NC football): we know that they will be tough, dirty and well coached. Expect some shoving. Some late hits. Expect high flying yellow flags and overzealous loud mouthed women in the stands complaining about calls that they nothing about or outright making up accusations on the spot. This will be from both sides. All the while, the Sandwich maker will be churning out 24 pimento cheese sandwiches in parts unknown/Greensboro area as she listens on the radio, and THE GREAT ONE will be feather-cooled by some young maidens as the game is taken in.
You want predictions? I will give you predictions. Predictions so accurate that sweet Simmons will go to calling me for advice (AGAIN!!!!). So, the game will be tested upfront, and the funny part is SPs left side OL is very good. Middle to right.......I have great hopes for. The DL for SP is very good. Front 7 is great vs. terrible teams. I think the DL hides our LB play vs. straight on power runs pretty good. I'm anticipating that will be the key to this victory for SP...the DL slowing down runs and not putting our LBs in one on ones to make tackles. As long as the DL does this, and we don't try to throw the d#mn ball 7-10 times - SP wins 27-20 in a highly contested, hard fought battle.
I anticipate Tuscola will be tough, as they still do make tough kids in and around Waynesville....kinda like parts of Belmont still does.
