Big time 2nd round game. Have watched a little film on Tuscola and they are disciplined and well coached. Still worried about SP's offense but the defense is very good. Tuscola has shown both this year and I look for a great battle at Lineberger next week.

Going to be fun, mountaineers have been playing well, I would be surprised if you have a line like Anson, but we have to play better offensively next week. Our defense is underrated, they don't give up big plays and force you to grind it out with long clock eating drives, yet don't give up many points, and usually with a nice lead. this should be fun!!!!
How is your visitors side, we will have a big crowd, said they were selling tickets for fan bus tonight after the game...30 bucks a piece...dont know what it includes.

Going to be a great game. Hard one to pick. The way SP has seen playing offense lately is impressive. Tuscola struggled with Anson. I got to go with SP, but Tuscola can win this one.
SP D is best that I can remember outside of that 2003 team. D line is stout and Muse is a beast at LB. Secondary has 19 picks in 12 games this year which is a total turnaround from old SP teams. However, picks not likely to make much of a difference when you face teams like Tuscola. Offense is still inconsistent but all of the pieces are there. SP is a very young team and improving as the season moves along. Much respect for Tuscola and that coaching staff.
The SP D can keep us in the game with just about anybody. But if the O can't put together any drives this could be our last. Can't keep the D on the field all night. For us to win I think the D has to give our O some short fields. Against anything more than an average D we struggle. That's the reality of it.
I have South Point in this game. They have looked solid down the stretch as they should. I think this game will be over before most games reach the end of the 3rd quarter though.
I favor South Point as well but Tuscola can get it done on defense. They have handled the run very well this year and they see a SP like offense everyday at practice. They should know how to stop it.
i dont think anyone runs a offense like sp . theyre very tricky and very tough. every time we played them it was a great game. good luck to the mountaineers.
Doesn't Tuscola run a similar offense? One thing about SP is they will cut and chop block you to death up front. Better get those knees ready.
The last time South Point tangled with a mountain team it ended in our favor. That game with Erwin was one of the best I have ever seen. Unfortunately I don't think Tuscola has much chance here. Good luck though.
This is not your typical SP Offense and not in a good way.
It is still South Point. Incidentally, South Point fielded what is IMO the second best high school squad to ever play in 3A. At least that I personally saw. This isnt that team but they are always competitive at least and dominant when at their best. That is ALL we need to know.
You can't overlook Tuscola, they have a stiff defense and are a very disciplined team, good coaching staff. I look for this to be a low scoring game for what both teams are use too. I'm a pisgah bear to the core but I think Tuscola wins 31 to 27, good luck mounties.

SP coaches know Coach Pursley at Tuscola very well and respect any team he puts on the field. You can bet SP is preparing for a very tough opponent in this Mountaineer team. SP will expect to need their best performance to get by Tuscola into the Western semi-finals.
Raider fans welcome the Tuscola team and faithful fans to Lineberger Stadium. It's a great venue to watch what will be a very competitive game.

Watched some film on Tuscola and they have a very efficient offense. The FB is not big but runs really hard. SP O did not play that well on Friday and needs to bring their A game for this one.
Tuscola is definitely a lot bigger than SP but that really doesn't matter because the Raiders run that offense like a machine every year. It will bore you to sleep but it is very hard to stop.
South Point plays in an area that if you arent good, REAL good, you end up at home playing basketball this time of year. That they are the opponent is all Tuscola needs to know. I would consider, honestly, a win by the Mountaineers to be an upset. But this is JMO, and does not reflect the views of anybody else.

I agree. South Point is the definite favorite and Tuscola will have to play much better than last week to stay in the game. Losing 3 starters in the past 2 games won't help, but we got to play with what we got. Looking forward to it.
