Insanity. This is pretty much universal across all sports and all leagues that you can't bet on your own team.
I think I saw where he has to serve a 2 game suspension…Hope you’re sitting down when I tell you their first two games are cupcakes lol

TT should not get a friendly call all year long. College sports has gone to **** in less than a decade, really sad.
They should be excluded from postseason play. The judge can't force the NCAA to play Tech in the postseason.
The playoffs aren't governed by the NCAA. From what I understand.

The “find a friendly judge” approach to seeking eligibility has gone a long way toward helping expose just how corrupt our judicial system has become.
If the courts won’t even allow the NCAA to enforce rules against betting on your own games …the one cardinal sports sin every athlete knows you can NEVER EVER do …then there’s no point in the NCAA having any enforcement powers at all.

This consistent behavior of the overstepping nature of judicial courts is why I don't bash the NCAA anymore.
NCAA rules a kid that broke black/white rules that undermines the integrity of the sports.....a judge just gets to override it regardless of an organization's best interest.

The CFP committee does seeding and selection for the playoff process. Eligibility determination is still an NCAA enforcement issue. With the type of money involved, dial-a-friendly-judge shouldn't be a get out of jail free card.
At this point just completely throw away all rules.

Not lost on me is this bullshlt, "oh, this little bi-otch Sorsby has anxiety problems and is addicted to gambling. He went to a 35-day facility and now he has control of it". And the NCAA commended him on "admitting his problem".

This. If he plays, the NCAA should rule them ineligible for the playoffs. They should also mandate that any game he plays in is an auto win for their opponent.
Gambling is ruining organized sports all around and needs to be heavily drawn back, ads should be illegal, etc
I've always thought the line "and justice for all" is one of the biggest loads of dung ever penned. In America, the justice you receive is dependent on your net worth and/or connections. NO judge at ANY level should be allowed to preside and make a ruling on anything where they have any connections whatsoever to the plaintiff or defendant.

But a college athlete can bet on his own team and you can't punish them? Where do we draw the line? May as well say you can't punish anyone because god forbid people have consequences.

Rumblings that if Sorsby plays, some team may forfeit games against him, or they say they are not wanting to play. I don't see any coach forfeiting, but this could get ugly.
Apparently there are no bounds on what they can order. These are all extremely poor decisions but decisions nonetheless.
Its insane and the wild west. The only positive is the more insanity, the more it drives reform.
So it's acceptable to gamble on the college sport you participate in??!! 
What’s funny is that the “normally” conservative Texas courts in the past have taken a harsh view of folks trying to use mental health excuses for committing crimes.
UNLESS it’s the starting quarterback for a big Texas football team making the claim …then their judges suddenly become bleeding heart liberals. LOL
