Hope that doesn't mean they are landing another stud.
He's the second-best 7th grader I've ever seen, and is actually worse now than he was then.

Matt Pilgrim?Who's the best?
Hunter McClintock, I believe that's the way his name is spelled, had a good mixtape. Can't trust them mixtapes.. Ryan Harrow's was one of the best...

Reclassifications and grad transfers are going to kill the 4-star recruits at these big schools. Very interested to see what happens over the next few years.
If I'm a guy like Woods, I'm not sure I'd want to go to any of these bluebloods.. You'd have to be very underrated and have no growing pains, or else you're screwed. If I'm the 50th recruit, not sure I'd pick UNC (or Duke, or Kentucky) in our current state of college ball.

Yep.They already did in Cole Anthony and is probably why he is leaving
Faaar Cal.:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:Report isn't real.
UK is the only place where players leave if they don't go pro
Yep. You see a few guys every now and then that think they were rated incorrectly who are willing to take the chance (Poole, Matthews, etc), but when reality hits and they have to wait in line to play, they head elsewhere.

Nick Richards and Daniel Orton say hi. Along with Tyler Herro and SGAAnd at a school like Kentucky.. Calipari has to show a bit of favoritism to a guy like Hagans, who was supposed to be a 1AD player. Cal's business model (for better or worse) is to get the top recruits and get them to the NBA. He can't afford to not play a guy like Hagans.. so the lesser recruits are stuck.
In terms of the team getting to the Final4, Hagans was not the best answer for us, imo. He probably should have been restricted starting in February, and more minutes should have been given to Baker and IQ, who could shoot (once they got going).
I'm not sure if this was part promise to Hagans, part to get Hagans going/not hurt his confidence, or maybe both... But either way, it tells a 4-star player "I'm never going to see time".
Really can't wait until 1AD is done with.

I recall a Mickey Mitchell mixtape that practically had folks orgasming on their screens here.
How's he doing nowadays?
See, I've never bought into that. I always looked at it as Cal has to built a title contender from scratch every year. He has to play the guys who have the highest ceiling of getting us there.
Early in the year, Hagans/IQ/Quade were pretty indistinguishable. As Hagans showed himself to be our best shot at a title, Cal rode with him more. A guy like Matthews was clearly not as good as Briscoe in year one, but he didn't seem to accept that and left.
So the lesser recruits do get stuck, but it's because they're not as good and we don't have time to wait on a guy to grow. But it's not about ranking. Quade took a back seat to SGA because SGA was the better player, even if Quade was the 5-star McDonald's All American. Herro played over Quickley this year because he was better.
It tells the 4-star player who isn't very good that he'll likely be recruited over next year too, because Cal has to have the best guy he can get. He can't just let someone average inherit 30 minutes a game because they're a sophomore now. When you look at the guys we've lost, how many were actual losses and how many were guys that weren't as good as their ranking?
Now, none of that means it's how the kids themselves feel. They probably blame it on star rankings and not getting a fair shot and all that, because most people do blame their failures on someone else if they can. But I'm not sure it's true. At least it doesn't look that way to me.
Yeah I remember when he was in middle school he looked like the next Jordan. He's the second-best 7th grader I've ever seen, and is actually worse now than he was then.
I saw a mix tape once and this guy never missed a shot. Can't trust them mixtapes.. Ryan Harrow's was one of the best...
Yep, I remember him and remember wanting him badly. Did he go to Ohio State? Not sure why thats sticking in my head.
