USC, Indiana, Maryland, Northwestern, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Penn State, Michigan State….

So let’s say we play go a perfect 4-for-4 and beat Maryland, Northwestern, Nebraska, Michigan State….no hiccups.

After going perfect against them, now you still have to pick off one of USC, Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State…. a reasonable goal to have… but given where our program was just a short time ago… also reasonable that it hasn’t happened yet

When Greg was hired, I saw his 1rst recruiting class and was amazed & slowly started to get sucked in to root for the home team. If he goes, I go back to Temple ( i didnt go to Temple either)

I’m 35 years old and grew up on Rutgers football with Greg Schiano. My family and I have had season tix and tailgate just about every game since 2004. Live it, eat it, breathe it. Today we brought my 5 month old daughter to her first Rutgers Football game, and it brought back memories to when I was a kid watching Schiano take on the Miami Hurricanes

We won a grand total of 3 games in the 2 years prior to Schiano’s return, and we went winless in the Big 10 2 years in a row…. We were losing recruits to Temple ….. Easy to forget just how bad things were when he took over in 2020…. My Rutgers football fandom was really waning until his return.

Progress is never linear like people want it to be but since he’s been back we’ve been trending up. Greg’s had to deal with pathetic leadership above him (Hobbs), severe lack of resources, and is only just finally getting real leadership from above.

UMass was a bad loss. UMass played lights out but no excuse to lose that game. BC is a game we should have won on paper but our QB play was really bad and have to give credit to their QB who made plays. Super easy for recency bias to say “hey we suck fire the coach” but to me it’s a truly weak take.

We need to get better. QB play has been well below where it needs to be, and our defense showed some flashes today but needs to be way more consistent.

Give Schiano another year in the portal with continuity of staff, real NIL backing, and alignment from above, and let’s see what he can do.

The anti-Schiano mob has been coming for Greg for years and just been waiting for the right opportunity to pounce. It feels like we’re nearing a tipping point…. And I hate to say it but if Greg goes, I go too. I stand with Greg

My man, in 2024 Franklin led State Penn to 13-3 record and was a drive away from beating Notre Dame and playing in the Natty game against Bama.

That dude is not a champion but he’s definitely a winner. Guy is 131-60 (.686 Win %) in 16 yrs as a head coach.

We are not announcing a new hire until the season ends no matter what. Anyone worth a lick is currently employed somewhere else. There is no future benefit to the program of plugging in an interim unless the team starts performing like we did vs Oregon and the firing is done to try to infuse life into the program. There is otherwise no purpose to doing it mid season. We just need to get through the season without absorbing too much more negative spotlight like UMass or 78-0 type losses.

Agreed. Without Schiano I don't have much reason to root for Rutgers anymore. Already the players are paid to play so cfb already lost that student athlete vibe. with Schiano gone the whole team would just be a bunch of mercenaries coached by another mercenary. I wouldn't have much of a connection or interest in following Rutgers further.

I first got into football in 2006 so Schiano for me has special sentimental meaning as does Brian Leonard, Ray Rice etc. It would be an end of an age.

but they don't, by every measure we saw from them their fanbase doesn't donate. They got money from 2 whales for all of this. Their facilities are atrocious, they had less in NIL than we did until getting him, and until Franklin, they were writing stories on how they won't be able to compete due to lack of funds, infrastructure and more.
