Didn't take the play that was open on 3rd down and forced into a crowd on 4th. Just the way the season has played out.
Bad teams don't make enough good plays.

The apologists will read more into these games than there is.

MSU looked worse than our QBs at times which I didn’t think was possible.

Eh. Here comes Ash back with some window dressing in offseason. In this day and age of scoring, we can get more than 17 in all but 1 game. Pathetic.

I take nothing from these last few games.

How is that a TO on Rutgers when theres an injured MSU player on the field? Aftwr 2 minutes, MSU shouldve been charged with a TO.

The clock would have started as soon as the player left the field and the play was blown in ready for play. MSU could have run 25 seconds off before snapping the ball. Clock would start because they clock would have been running without the injury.

DUMB! DUMB! DUMB!

Bonehead coaching!!!!!
Wasted a timeout and gave the MSU offense time to set up the trick play.
Ash has a lot to learn about being a head coach.
he's got 5 more years on his gift contract but i dont think thats enough time for him to qualify as a HC

So we are a 24 point underdog on the road against MSU and we have a chance to win on the last drive and it’s a doom and gloom?

Gio and the seniors gave it their all..too bad they could not pull it out.

RU is whats its record says it is...1-11 with a really bad head coach that will start this mess all over again next season

...with even worse players.

If Gio were to scramble to throw.. even with his limitations.. he could have won some games.

Looking forward.. should be pretty easy to find some JC and xfers who can catch footballs.

Most incompetent Coach in the B1G.
We have 2 more years of Hobbs and Ash. The CFB world is laughing at us.
And around the big ten the east division and 3 west opponents are popping Champaign to celebrate their automatic win in 2019, and 4 west opponents saying it’s not fair!!!!!!

Most overlooked play at the end might've been Young letting that punt bounce. Punt was kicked from their 48 and landed 33 yards past the LOS at our 19, but Young slowed, then stopped rather than running up to make the fair catch. Looked like he could've gotten there without too much trouble. Instead, ball on our 1 yard line, we punt (and not well) and they score when they hadn't moved the ball much all day. We still had a chance, though.

I still want Ash gone, but it's at least good to see, over the last several games, that our defense has come a long way and our offense at least has a running game and could be significantly better with even a mediocre QB (which is a huge upgrade from AS).

Really? Let me ask you this.. WHY were we 24 point dogs to a team who had not scored a TD in.. what was it.. 8 quarters? Did you see how bad MSU's offense was? And, knowing that.. we were made 24 point dogs.

And you think the "doom and gloom" generated by that circumstance should be erased by a nice effort by our defense?

Don’t forget that the MSU QB is a backup and had a terrible game.

This felt like the NW game. Neither team cared to play us and almost gave us both games, but we still couldn’t win.

Couldn't beat the other team plus the zebras today. Out of all the games I've watched since joining the B1G this was by far the worst screwing we received from them. Absolutely mind boggling officiating today.

Yep. We lost because of a **** punt and lucky role. I thought he could have fielded that ball, but it would have been risky.

Extend Chris Ash

This. Hobbs is giddy over the ‘effort’.
Rumor is that if Ash pulls the Upsets next year over UMASS and Liberty at home next year Hobbs gives ASH another 2 year extension! Yeah, that’s a AD we can be proud of.

Cant see why J Lewis couldn't fit this mold. Guess we'll find out when he plays for another team in the future.

Tough loss guys. You should be proud of your team. Lots of other one win teams would have mailed this game in. You gave Sparty all it could handle.

Gio gave them a chance.

Too conservative play calling when 2nd and 5 near our goal line.

Then towards the end they should have had Gio run the option

McNulty cost them the game
