Either way the RPI will be gone soon or tweaked. One or the other.
Well I haven't seen anything about replacing it especially while more and more states are going to RPI and not sure what they would replace it with but if they do then people can gripe and complain about whatever system that is just as now and just like they were when the nchsaa went by MaxPreps before the RPI .

Well for seeding purposes you kinda have to have a ranking system do ether you do like the NCAA and do an opinion pole or you do some kinda mathematical formula which usually has to involve sos.
But that said Tarboro usually doesn't have a great sos but in the end of the season they usually show that it doesn't always matter that for sure lol.
I know it’s necessary for seeding purposes. But I just don’t think it has anything to do with who actually wins the games in the playoffs.

Lord I complained about MaxPreps . If I only knew what I know now I wouldn't have.

Starmount beating Andrews last year with similar teams is the reason I'm not totally sold on Andrews...Mt.Airy doesn't pass that much...

Really?

Say Tarboro is 10-3 and lost to top 10 3a schools and Andrews is 13-00 but only played a few top 15 in 1a. Let's say Tarboro and Andrews basically was even match or really close id go with tarboro because they already felt what it's like to face a strong 3a team. Andrews would have to adjust

I stick by it bro. Mt.Airy's A game will be the best that Hayesville has likely played against....I look at it this way..its tough comparing scores....but EW and Murphy were pretty much a stalemate..both teams have personnel that weren't a 100%. Mt.Airy could have put 80 on EW...well they almost did 62-7. Murphy destroyed Robbinsville...so for what it's worth..tough to use..but real numbers..Andrews beat Robinsville and Murphy..All 3 would likely beat EW..but not by 60...Styles do make fights however.
Alright man you may be right. Just have to see how it all plays out. I will say this, Murphy is so up and down this year that it’s hard to get a handle on how good they really are. Robbinsville was steamrolling along until they got some unfortunate and untimely injuries. Now Andrews (the SMC doormat for years, not a knock, just the truth) is king of the SMC and maybe the 1a west. It’s been a weird year for sure.

MA actually passed for 126 yards Friday night in first half alone.
They had 526 total yards. QB looked rely good throwing it.

They dont need to throw the ball alot if you beating a team that bad unless you want to rub salt in the wound MA got that talent to do it all but besides east surry have they been tested by a good team or at least a great run team

All this discussion is about is higher seeding and more home games and that is a huge deal. But you still have to win. All it takes for small 1A is a injury to a key player or even the flu as it is running rampant now. That would be a sad way to lose this late in the season. As far as Andrews they have beaten 4 teams in the top 10 this year and a couple of more in the top 20. The closest game was with Robbinsville. Again it would be foolish for Andrews to schedule top notch 3A teams before you go into the gauntlet of the SMC. To each his own. No matter what happens from here on out it has been a historic season fo Andrews which is something our little school will be proud of for many years. We will just see how it goes from here on out

Starmount did just enough to beat EW. EW wasn't good defensively in the trenches. Mt.Airy will be too much for anyone coming out of the SMC this year. Just my thoughts...but that's why we play the game...Kinda like I thought EW didn't have a snowballs chance against Murphy this year...but honestly they should've won.

And Tarboro will be too much for anyone coming out of the west this year and next year, so all this is a moot point apart from who gets the honor of representing the west in the title game
Not true this year. Tarboro is still 2 years away from having a team that I think will even be capable of being “too much to handle”

You guys have said yourselves that this team is stronger than last year's and if that's the case then I don't see anybody in the west beating Tarboro. There's 1 or 2 teams in the west this year that might be able to give you a good game but I don't see any of them beating ya'll.

Its going to take a well oiled passing attack and out of the teams left in the west the only one that you can say that about is Draughn and I don't see Draughn getting past Andrews but if they do I definitely dont see them beating Mount Airy. So what you're left with are run oriented teams and that plays right into Tarboro's hands.

Well it’s true they are better than they were last year but I think there’s a lot more good teams in the west this year than previous years.

Trust me the boys are in no way looking ahead. Murphy is coming to town. But just me looking ahead it would be nice if it played out to where Mt Airy had to make a 5 hour trip and play Andrews. Just to see how we stack up to the big boys of 1A. Ok this is not a thread about Andrews but since they were brought up a few times I thought I would throw this in. Good luck to all the teams still playing

Remember what I said about Murphy this year. They have been up and down. EW caught them on a down night, much like Hayesville did. Hayesville came close too but I don’t think they would stay within three or four TDs if they played Murphy on a good night this year.

Love this tread, think most every team in the playoffs the past 2 years have been discussed at lengths. Well except the 2 teams actually playing and how they match up.

Oh well, gives me great reading while waiting on Bambi. Keep at it fellers.

Long bus ride from Robbinsville to the sandy shores for this one. It could play a factor. Black knights have to Watch out for the sand crabs.

very likely to happen...i bet Mt.Airy handles their end with room to spare against Hayesville...and as far as a tough Robbinsville...you have to go by what's presented for this year...If Robbinsville is tough then they will handle business like usual. BTW..i thought Murphy was kind of slow on the edges...EW got to the edge on Murphy quite a bit...EW #33 didn't get any carries. Banged up i suppose..but he was a very good change of pace back up until the Starmount game...then not sure what happened to him offensively.
