For a Murphy team they are. They've been prone to giving up big plays all season, even in SMC play. Murphy just doesn't have the team speed of years past.

Murphy had a lot of speed at the skill spots on JV this season but I thought they were weakest at LB/DE so not sure how much that group coming up will help with team defensive speed. Should be more in line with a typical Murphy offense and secondary speed wise, in a year or two at least.

So to get this straight, after 8 pages, I gather Mount Airy is predicted to beat Andrews, Eastern Randolph, and Tarboro all in the same night with 28 year old seniors in 30 degree temperatures somewhere between Murphy and the coast at an altitude of 900-2000 ft above sea level while fans eat biscuits and gravy because Robbinsville is having an off year due to Mitchell losing twice to Draughn.

Anyway, my money's on North Stokes to run the table.......

You must admit it, regardless of your school, the 1A forum is the place to be on this site.

286 replies??!! Holy moly........that HAS to be a record for an ER thread.

It's gettin a little bit closer to Friday night. I'm expecting a good, good game. I think whichever team stops each other's rushing attack the best will be the victor. I will say I am looking forward to watching Cutler Adams. Heard a lot of good things about that guy. I think if ER holds him to around 100 yards or less, they'll be in decent shape. If Julian is indeed coming back this week, that will help ER's D-LIne tremendously. I hope Devonte returns as well....

Especially if North Stokes has the #1 seed. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, wants to drive to North Stokes. Those who do seldom live to tell the tale.

And 286? Would take me and you like half a year on one of normal ER threads to get there. Weird feeling ain’t it???

I'm thinking more like five years. This definitely wouldn't have happened on the 2A board. Only reason we got any action on 3A board is because Footsoldier kept trolling us.

Andrews hasn’t got much respect till the last few weeks from AC-T. Now this week it’s more of a write up about #7 Murphy than #2 Undefeated Andrews. Still a lot of, if this wouldn’t have happened or if this would have happened. Just my biased opinion looking through my red colored glasses. Maybe we will advance and play another week

I'm not so sure. 23-seed Eastern Guilford is a good draw for West Henderson in the 3A bracket--clock usually strikes midnight on Cinderella eventually and West is a whole lot better than the Asheville Erwin team Eastern Guilford came from behind in the 2nd half to beat last week. Asheville School already beat their opponent in the NCISAA playoffs earlier this year. 4A west bracket is stout, but if AC Reynolds could beat Chambers I think they can play with anybody in it. 1A will have a couple drop off but I'd be surprised if it's a blood bath for WNC Friday.
