It sounded to me like the woman was trying to say Knicks because she doesnt know her sports teams and tried to correct it by saying Lakers and got tongue tied. Of course, some people will want her drawn and quarterded anyway.

Agreed. Here it is if folks wanna judge for themselves (but warning, NSFW language). Either way, I'm pretty sure she just wrecked her career.

Lets not get off track. There's no need to talk about past indiscretions. No need to fight over, and Im not saying anyone is, but there is no need to fight over what that reporter said. We are talking about 9 people, Kobe Bryant included, that lost their lives in a tragic accident.

She said Nickers or Nakers...she tweeted and explained that she got tongue tied between Knicks and Lakers.

This is stupid. No one would use the word some think she used to describe today's events...moronic. People need to understand context and realize we are all human.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all of the families involved with this tragedy. The sports world lost an absolute legend and a future star. Kobe’s level of competitiveness isn’t something we see a lot of anymore and he is undoubtedly one of the greatest to ever play the game. It just feels like a punch in the gut knowing that this is a month before the hall of fame ceremony.

It’s pretty damn sad that TMZ reported it before the family knew about it .
I assumed if Matt Jones retweeted it, it must be true but I found out quickly there was doubt in a lot of other places. Now there are memorials and crowds in several sites.

Not much there to read. Looked up the ADS-B data and it shows major fluctuations in their descent rate before impact at nearly 5000 ft per minute. That would suggest they were attempting to auto rotate which in turn shows an engine failure/malfunction. At the rate of impact, they didnt feel a thing. That's not survivable.
The footage I’ve seen even of the crash was a big area of smoke and ash. Nothing resembling a copter or anyone aboard.

I thought she said Nickers, I believe her that she melded the words. We’ve all talked faster than our brains can process at times. She’ll be ostracized and possibly ruined over the error, that’s the world we live in today.

I'm wondering if Big Ben would get the same treatment as Kobe regarding past indiscretions? His accomplishments are much more visible and his presence on the court was undeniable. But, his views toward women like that just don't all of a sudden appear. I hate that he died along with his daughter and he did die young, but to glorify it like this makes it appear that all the other stuff was just brushed under the rug and forgotten is so much disrespect to women all over. Just my opinion on the matter.

Just driving around, listening to this culture. I found myself thinking, if the death of Kobe is getting this kind of reaction, what in the world will happen when Jordan dies? But then, I figure at least some of the intense reaction to Kobe's death has to do with his age - at 41, still a relatively young man. That's part of the shock. Jordan is closing in on 60, by contrast.

Part of this seems like an over-reaction. As a culture, we over-react to everything. Something doesn't just make you mad, it makes you OUTRAGED!!! You don't simply disagree - if you don't hold the right opinion, then you are a blankety blank and I hope you die in a fire. etc. Kobe was a really, really good basketball player, but really no more than that, and even as that, he's not quite on the Jordan/Magic/Bird/LeBron level, he's a tier below. Part of it is media market - just like you wonder how big Jordan's star might have been had he played in Portland rather than Chicago, so too Kobe being in Tinseltown added to his image.

When someone tragically dies, you remember the good they did. The father he was. How many kids he inspired to work their asses off to reach their goals. A million other reason. He deserves all the glorification people give him. Don't be that guy and diminish Kobe for mistakes he made 15 years ago. Everyone makes mistakes. They shouldn't be remembered for them after they're gone.
