I look at it as a learning process. Just even getting a private workout with a team is GREAT experience and helps prepare you for the workout that will really count down the road.

Think of it like a job interview. The more practice at it you get, the better you'll be when the perfect job comes along. So going through the process can only help a young man be more comfortable in next year's process and so on.

Plus, Nick is more athletic than some of our fans give him credit for. He runs great for a big, FT shooting is improved (always a n upside for post players). What he needs more than anything is to learn to play defense with his feet, not his hands. And that alone would get him more minutes on the floor, which would help him offensively.

I'm betting he has 1/3 of the years of bb instruction as most of his peers. I'm still shocked we haven't heard of him spending a summer at a big man camp. Would do him worlds of good.
I could be wrong about this, but to my knowledge Cal has never had a player he recruited become a junior at UK, so Nick would be the first, it is for that reason, I think you are wrong, Nick will either stay in the draft, or transfer. Again, I may be wrong.

You see your teammates buying exotic cars and you want one also. Some agent will promise him that and he will be gone. First rule in life? Follow the money.

Hey, Nick did look pretty good against Vanderbilt. You know that team that went winless in the SEC.

Smart move getting feedback from the NBA. I’m sure nobody could have done that based on the hours of tape that’s already out there on him. Well many not hours as he hasn’t been able to get that much PT.

Willie Cauley Stein became a junior. Alex Poythress who Calipari recruited became a junior then a senior. Marcus Lee was a Calipari recruit and he became a junior. Jon Hood was recruited by Calipari and he stayed five years. Dominique Hawkins was recruited by Calipari and stayed four years. Derek Willis was recruited by Calipari and stayed four years. That's off the top of my head.

NIck's release was well done. He's a great young man from all people who have dealt with him and seems to be confirmed by UK coaches/teammates as well. Pull for him in the aspect that being told by organizations it's okay for him to block shots/rebound because we're never going to throw the ball to you for post ups is what he needs. One thing when you hear it from same people, another when different people tell you. If Richards returns--"Bahamas" Nick needs to be the regular performer. Not talking output as much as effort/aggression. Baseline jumpers, face up jumpers, has a great FT stroke (trust Richards at FT line more then I did Keldon or PJ) and then finish plays. Can't fumble the ball or miss dunks/2 footers.

Have more faith in him then I do EJ to return and get something out of this process.

When is the deadline for staying in the draft or coming back to school?

He won’t transfer this year he’s got a serious gf at UK who is a senior volleyball player!
