Jamar Sekona will be before Nash IMO
you got your wish this year....i just happened to be in Basketball insteadWe consistently recruit the higheat ranked classes in our division. Currently I believe Iowa, Wisconsin and Northwestern sit ahead of us in the rankings. When all is said and done are you concerned that we’ll finish behind these 3 teams? It all starts in our division. Get to the B1G Championship for a chance to win. We have the recruiting capability for that, it just needs to end up as that on the field..
I guess that goes against the idea that we're being very selective.![]()
We’re Number 1!
We’re Number 1!

since we joined the Big Ten we have never had a recruiting class ranked behind any big ten west program
You sound like an Iowa fan. They’re completely obsessed with Nebraskas offers..
Thanks.
Not really. Nebraska and the Midwest in general does not have a ton of close proximity talent. So Frost and Co are trying to "cast a wide net" so to speak. To basically say, "hey we are interested in learning more , are you interested as well" Many recruiting experts say that kids will not take a visit to a school without an offer.I guess that goes against the idea that we're being very selective.

Just because Nebraska has offered a kid doesn't mean Nebraska automatically has to take them. Held I believe explained it better. He said there are very small % of kids with offers who are labeled as a top priority. Those kids can commit at any time they want, and Nebraska would take them. For the vast majority of other offers the coaching staff needs to dig deeper into them and see if they would be a good fit and if they are someone they really want on the team. So basically we are not being very selective with offers. They become selective later on. Look at it from a job/ interview stand point. An employer may look through hundreds of applications. They will then sort them into a pile of maybe 50 who fit a general criteria. From those 50 they will start to dig deeper and look more closely. To eventually narrow down to a few top applicants they really want.
Shoot, you blew my cover. Should have known better than to comment about recruiting offers in a recruiting thread. You sound like an Iowa fan. They’re completely obsessed with Nebraskas offers..
Yes they are. There are a many of them that love the opportunity at some virtue signaling on behalf of the Iowa program. It's hilarious. You sound like an Iowa fan. They’re completely obsessed with Nebraskas offers..
Iowa has a top ranked 2020 class, just saying.I guess that goes against the idea that we're being very selective.
The offer count doesn't have anything to do with selectivity. Different programs have different strategies for building their pool of players to choose from. The offer count thing is an enormous straw man that some programs like to use as a way to say, "hey, when we offer, we mean it". They are just different strategies in play to try to accumulate the best recruiting class and program fit possible.I guess that goes against the idea that we're being very selective.
It's May 10th.Iowa has a top ranked 2020 class, just saying.
Nebraska has a top ranked 2020 Bball class, just saying.Iowa has a top ranked 2020 class, just saying.
And they will continue to have a mediocre team.Iowa has a top ranked 2020 class, just saying.
We've pretty much turned the roster over already, and not sure what the class size will be this year. Scholarship distribution says we have 14 seniors, so based on that, what would be a good ballpark number? 17-19?
We have been doing a far better job than recent memory, so no alarm bells going off yet for me. We also have to start producing results on the field. I think it will come together and don't see anything that gives me concern at present.
Maybe you should start a thread on Iowa recruiting. That’s something that’s been missing on here.Iowa has a top ranked 2020 class, just saying.
OWH's scholarship distribution chart shows 15 seniors and 81/85 spots filled. Would think that at least Hixson gets one of those, so 18 spots are open. It's possible that a couple of 4th year juniors move on in addition to a couple of younger guys failing to thrive once they get here. I would say 20-22 spots for next year. They will lose 15 scholarship players after the 2019 season. I would imagine, there will be a few more stragglers who turnover as well. They might be able to stretch it up to 20, but the class will still be smaller than usual.
I think you are close to 100% correct on this. They talked/addressed this on sports nightly recently. They said that NU is treating offers as a way to open the communication. An offer doesn't mean it's a"committable offer" unless it's the guy at the top of the list of that particular position. Not really. Nebraska and the Midwest in general does not have a ton of close proximity talent. So Frost and Co are trying to "cast a wide net" so to speak. It’s always been so strange to me when people bring Jesus up like this. First of all, it’s offensive to a lot of people and second, why do it? Why insert His name into the conversation when it doesn’t even make sense?
It adds emphasis, humor, color, profanity, spice, fun, and a little controversy! That's the whole point of swearing and hyperbole!
So does Iowa.Nebraska has a top ranked 2020 Bball class, just saying.
It's completely meaningless right now.
Who GAF, and no they don't. 0 commits for the 2020 class. Damn facts. So does Iowa.
Whatever!Who GAF, and no they don't. 0 commits for the 2020 class. Damn facts.
Snappy come back. You had five hours, and that’s the best you could do? Oh that’s right… Iowa. Say no more.Whatever!
He meant to say that word out of Iowa City is that they will have a top ranked class in 2020.Who GAF, and no they don't. 0 commits for the 2020 class. Damn facts.
I see Iowa finishing really strong...and once again signing a generic Top 50 football class.
