It has been really quiet since 85,000 + showed up at the spring game. I know we got the Kansas kid Cochran, but I am surprised we have not had any other commitments. Anyone else surprised at nothing happening. We are really behind most of the average to top tier power 5 programs. Time to rally!

we're never going to land another recruit again....ever. I would expect high profile recruits to want to take visits and maybe wait and see how the Huskers look this fall before they make a decision. Frost could probably fill this class tomorrow with Pelini recruits if he wanted.

Well, I did say last December I missed the normal excitement of having to fill 10 spots in January and February. That always made things exciting. And some of the pot luck guys were interesting (even though some, like Abdullah panned out). I wasn't sure I could handle a coach who actually had a top 20 class in place well before signing day. Maybe this last class was a fluke and we will go back to the excitement of trying to fill half the class after the new year. :)

We consistently recruit the higheat ranked classes in our division. Currently I believe Iowa, Wisconsin and Northwestern sit ahead of us in the rankings. When all is said and done are you concerned that we’ll finish behind these 3 teams? It all starts in our division. Get to the B1G Championship for a chance to win. We have the recruiting capability for that, it just needs to end up as that on the field..

We've pretty much turned the roster over already, and not sure what the class size will be this year. Scholarship distribution says we have 14 seniors, so based on that, what would be a good ballpark number? 17-19?

We have been doing a far better job than recent memory, so no alarm bells going off yet for me. We also have to start producing results on the field. I think it will come together and don't see anything that gives me concern at present.

May be a commit or two before then BUT by the end of June (with the camps in Lincoln) things will pick up. That's always the biggest recruit commitment time of the year for Nebraska. It's also when a batch of recruits start to get serious and want to make commitments before the Fall season.

Rumor is we will be taking close to, if not a full class of, 25 again this year. Don't ask me how other than attrition but that is the number again this year.

I would like to see more, but it is very early in the recruiting cycle. I know we have over 400 offers out there to kids. Held made a comment on it, that just because they have given the kids an offer doesn't mean they are going to automatically let them commit. He said they have a very small list of kids who can commit whenever they want (top priority) The rest he said they are in no rush. They want to take their time and find the right guys. So that could be some of the reason we aren't seeing things go crazy.

Yes I expect close to 25. Plenty of time between now and fall 2020 that guys are going to drop out of the program.

I think 25 is being overly optimistic. There are 15 spots open four graduation, added to the four spots open now. Hixson almost for sure will get one of the open slots. Warner deserves one, but Kurt can easily foot his bill. Maybe another walkon gets a spot. That leaves 17. Maybe a couple of fourth year juniors wrap things up and either retire or seek grad transfer. NU would need another six to leave the program to get to 25.

I'm not worried. I bet we have 8 commits by the time week 1 rolls around. Recruiting will get real easy going forward once we win 9+ games this year.

I don't believe that we'll have as many recruits this year but the quality of them will continue to improve.

Where are Alabama, Clemson, Oklahoma and Ohio State? With the exception of Michigan, most of the schools on that list are not known for having much success in recruiting.

No panic here, just a little surprised and wanted other opinions. Jesus Christ don't get your panties in a wad, mine aren't

I am feeling great, blood pressure is under control, and I have lost 7 pounds since spring break. Have a great evening/weekend. Winking

I didn’t even respond directly to your initial post. However, you feel the need to pick my post to respond to because I post an image. Look at the post I was actually responding to.

It makes sense to me that Nebraska could have a good amount of transition.

If the regimen for a football player here is: To bed early, early to rise because Duval says its part of the program, and the practices are early so you better....and its a fast paced practice, you've got little time to screw around with politicking with the coaches or late at night playing Madden screwing around. You are either moving up or just getting gassed each day I assume, with a "faster" paced practice at Nebraska...from what I gathered at the hiring of the staff..

Sounds like its a real grind during the week and if Frost can pull in #15 classes and possibly higher each year, I can't see a bunch of players that are decent to highly recruited, wanting to bust their butt and not move up into the 2 deep...let alone the eventual ones who think they're better and transfer because they don't grade as good going up against college competition in practice.

It’s always been so strange to me when people bring Jesus up like this. First of all, it’s offensive to a lot of people and second, why do it? Why insert His name into the conversation when it doesn’t even make sense?

It adds emphasis, humor, color, profanity, spice, fun, and a little controversy! That's the whole point of swearing and hyperbole!
