I like Jersey Mike’s RAC and or Jersey Mike’s Rutgers Athletic Center. It should be the JMAC. .
Jersey Mikes Athletic Center
I would hope by building out the lobby (like in some of the renderings) and making 118 look like the opposite end line seats would qualify as a “substantial renovation” under the contract conditions.“The contract includes a opt-out option for Jersey Mike’s which can be executed in July 2029 if Rutgers does not “substantially renovate” the 8,000-seat trapezoidal arena or build a new one by July 1, 2028.”
Hey Jim, that’s awesome — I’ve always enjoyed AZ — the dry heat agrees with me. Taking the family to Sedona in May. Enjoy!I hope the RAC is rocking like that again on Wednesday when OSU rolls into town. And hopefully the team will be running on all cylinders again like they were on Saturday afternoon.
Hey, Billy! I didn't realize you had moved to Florida. We're now living in Tucson, AZ - been here since September 2017.
Hopefully in the new lobby they will be one of the main concessions tenants or an offering on the general menu.Unfortunately, there is currently no Jersey Mike's at the RAC
Agree.I would hope by building out the lobby (like in some of the renderings) and making 118 look like the opposite end line seats would qualify as a “substantial renovation” under the contract conditions.
As for building a new one:
1. Nah.
2. I wouldn’t let them be part of the renaming of a new building unless more $$$$ was offered.
If that’s not “substantial” enough for Jersey Mike’s I say we rip up that contract and go with the Subway instead. LOLAgree.
1. Build out the lobby and put a block R on the building
2. Bring back section 118
3. Add suites and premium seating
4. Add bathrooms
Like MSG Sphere? We should build a superstructure around the RAC, and just build the new concessions and bathrooms into that. Make it a giant glass cube, completely powerwash the RAC so it's a brilliant white, and then light up the whole thing with cool lighting on gameday. Completely maintains the RAC advantage, but allows for brand new concessions, bathrooms, etc. Turn the old offices into "premium club seating" and build up a new 118 that matches the student section for size, with a cutout in the middle for the handicap seating.

I get it. Yes. But it’s always going to be the RAC that’s all.You don’t understand naming rights?
Do you understand $20 million?
Nah; don't need all the fancy projection and it wouldn't be the main building. It would be an outer structure from the RAC, with the RAC still visible inside.Like MSG Sphere?
I think you’re onto something here.Nah; don't need all the fancy projection and it wouldn't be the main building. It would be an outer structure from the RAC, with the RAC still visible inside.
Like this, but on a bigger scale, with additional space added to the sides of the RAC for added bathrooms, new concession stands, etc.

I mean, I certainly think so!I think you’re onto something here.
I like your ideas. Any renovation should in fact look to increase the RAC's noise making capabilities through the use of sound reflective materials.I mean, I certainly think so!
I just feel like it's the best option for not losing *any* of the RAC's noise making capabilities.
