We'll see what he says, but the OL and DL (first half) failed today. Not the QB. Did you see the running game? What did Langan do today? Are you suggesting that all of the QB's presently the roster outside Vedral would have also failed?
Nuts Art wouldn't do well with the pressure the PSU dl is bringing, they are the 2nd most talented team we'll play all season after OSU **** i'm just hoping we don't get shutout.
We all know what happens when Art gets pressured....youve got to try Art and at least run the quick plays he ran against Wisconsin, which allowed him to pass for more than 200+ yards.
2% worse than his replacement? Let's do the math.. MLB is 1/11 players.. that's 9%.. his replacement is likely also a top recruit.. so.. maybe 80% as good.. 20% of 9% is roughly 2%.. so the math checks out. And we do not throw over the middle.. so 2% worse is a bit high.Imagine how pathetic the offense would have looked if PSU had Micah Parsons at MLB
I dunno.. maybe we should get to see that again... in, say the last 4 minutes of a game we will lose.We all know what happens when Art gets pressured....
There you go.True colors.Root for failure.Pitiful .What a disgrace .I wish he put Art in. That way he could have gotten sacked 6 times and fumbled 2-3 times and everyone would shut up
And everyone else in this thread shitting all over Vedral gets a pass from you? Funny. There you go.True colors.Root for failure.Pitiful .What a disgrace .
Don't see the difference? Vedral critics cite what actually happens THIS YEAR and today.. you Sitkowski haters PROJECT what failures you want to assign to him.And everyone else in this thread shitting all over Vedral gets a pass from you? Funny.
You? Excuse me? I have not said a word about Art this year other than him doing a nice job last week.Don't see the difference? Vedral critics cite what actually happens THIS YEAR and today.. you Sitkowski haters PROJECT what failures you want to assign to him.

Same old, same old. The quarterback(s) on the bench are better than the one who spent most of the game on his back and/or on the run behind a porous OL.

That’s the difference between guys who get paid to coach vs guys on the internet.id rather see a bunch of ints and long bombs with Art in rather than these 5yd pass plays with Vedral when we are playing from behind down 2 or 3 possessions. Go big or go home.
He has that opportunity during the week.Art deserved an opportunity to show what he could do, especially given the way he played last week. If it failed, it failed, but at least you’ve exhausted all your options. Now we’re left to wonder what might have been.

Nobody deserves anything in this world, and neither do football players sitting on the bench. You don't understand how things work, do you?no he doesn’t because Vedral is the guy for now.

The crappy Purdue team that got manhandled by a crappy Nebraska team? No. That's not how time is earned.Artur earned his opportunity via his effectiveness in last weeks game against Purdue. Artur has as many wins as Vedral this season. That alone should have given Artur an opportunity when Vedral proved to be ineffective in H1.

we scored 7 pts vs PSU today. We lost by 16. Is that how time is earned?
^^^^We can not block people. And they sniffed out a series of nice misdirection plays. We couldn't throw deep because of pressure, we couldn't throw short because of man lock, we couldn't run inside because they killed us on the interior, we couldn't stretch because they killed us on the edge, their lbs sniffed out screen because they didn't need to bring them for heat. What else you want him to do?
That’s not how it works.how things should work is when someone isn’t producing, you play someone else.
Okay.. same message that you replied to but replace "YOU critics" with "THE critics".. the meaning of the message remains the same. You? Excuse me? I have not said a word about Art this year other than him doing a nice job last week.

In the heat of the moment, I was calling for this as well. In hindsight, it likely would've been a disaster. Art is not as mobile as Noah and historically has not responded well to pressure. As others have pointed out and was evident even to armchair QBs like myself, our lines were not getting it done today on either side of the ball which was the biggest problem. And while Art had a decent showing against Purdue, he also threw a couple of would be INTs that Purdue simply didn't execute.Art has improved and played well at Purdue. He should have gotten a series in the first half today and then at the end of the game. PSU played short field defense all day, bringing in Art would have forced them to change, and maybe we benefit.
Understood, but if Vedral was able to deliver the ball as quickly as Sitkowski, maybe he wouldn't HAVE to make things happen with his legs as often... And if he was able to throw as hard and as accurately as Sitkowski and hit more of his receivers in stride, maybe his receivers would have more chances to make things happen with THEIR legs... The coaches see what happens in practice though, and we don't, so hopefully they're making the best decision.Vedral added a running component--not like the sledgehammer approach of Langan, but he finds openings and makes things happen with his legs.
But as @gef21 has noted, there was no time for downfield passes. PSU DL lived in RU's backfield all day.Understood, but if Vedral was able to deliver the ball as quickly as Sitkowski, maybe he wouldn't HAVE to make things happen with his legs as often... Okay, but wouldn't all the quick short passes and sideline stuff have a chance to be more successful with faster and more accurate deliveries?.But as @gef21 has noted, there was no time for downfield passes. PSU DL lived in RU's backfield all day.
