IU will probably look elsewhere first but I wouldn't be surprised if they talk to Rick.

He may still get punished by the NCAA so I would be very leery (for a lot of other reasons as well) to hire him.

I give up on the NCAA doing anything to any coach or school anymore.

Chris Beard or Scott Drew. Hopefully not Oates or Pitino, who is prob still too radioactive

This is all fun for a laugh. But does anybody think a relatively new AD -- waiting for a new president hire this summer - is going to hire a guy with not one, not two, but THREE major scandals in his recent past?

Even a program with one trip beyond the Sweet 16 since 1993 is not that desperate.

You are probably right.

It's a Done Deal. And they are bringing back Kelvin Sanctions as his chief deputy...

We're all going to miss the good old days -- that blink of an eye between 1993 and the hiring of known crook Kelvin Sampson -- when Indiana's mantra was, "At least we lose the right way..."
I prefer Sanctionson but Kelvin Sanctions works as well.

Maybe Louisville will hire him back.

Seriously, I'm still shocked Iona didn't wait for the NCAA rulings. But they're smarter than I am. At the current pace, UL gets sanctions and Pitino is put on "show cause" restrictions about 3 years AFTER Pitino's 75th Birthday.

I remember the Pitino years at UK fondly. He revived the program with bluegrass boys, and I was living in Lexington and going to school during the 96, 7, and 8 years. The downtown celebrations were epic.

Now, Pitino is a great coach. I don't see how anyone can argue that. However, he is old. No major program looking to revive its image is going to hire him.

His time has passed. The only reason he had the kind of success he did at looserville is because he was giving players money and hiring hos to give them blowjobs in exchange for commits. The true scope of the corruption there will most likely never be fully known. Sad but true.
