Yawwwwwnnnn. Same horse crap explanation from Cal. Different day. He's like a broken record from back in the day that there were record players. Heck if this keeps up he can just videotape his post game presser and hit the replay button after every game.

"I ask them as a group if any of them had any balls and a few of them said they hope to have someday, 2 of them said they thought they had balls and one of them wasn't quite sure what I was asking." "I told them that I love them and would not trade them for any other team." "I will have someone watch the game film for me, since I have to prepare for my next podcast, but I am sure all of this stuff that caused us to get embarrassed, out manned, out played and our tails kicked, can be fixed. I am sure I was not out coached." "We are young but we have 2-3 first rounders. "I am losing count on how many that will give me since I have been here at UK."

He did not seem too bothered. He said if they care they will listen to him and if they don't care they won't listen to him. Said they are 18-19 years old. Just going to have to figure it out. Going to see what we was doing before and not doing now. Said he liked his team and it was their job to listen and his job to tell them.

So if they don't listen, does that mean only 15 shots vs 18? They get to make only 6 TOs game vs 8 before coming out?

He didn't mention any consequences. I am fearful that the number 1 priority on his mind is to stick with them and make them the best they can be for the pro's and not worry so much about what is best for the team.

He has to stick with them. I mean what other option do we have? lol

We aren't winning a title starting Willis, Woodchopper, Issac and Hawkins lol

Whats best for the team is that these talented kids stay on the court and figure this out

Not sure what he can say at this point. Lace em up and finish this season.

What I meant by 'sticking with them' is that they will be allowed to do whatever they want without losing any playing time and Cal not trying to get the point across in a consequential way. They aren't going to make it anyway, too self centered and soft, so why not use some drastic measures even if it means 7 more losses instead of 4?

Exactly. Enough coddling if they're not playing right. I'd rather see Baby Calipari and the Lumberjack if we're gonna look like a ****** AAU team.

The ******** "performance" we saw tonight from this "team" is not acceptable at KENTUCKY. PERIOD.

Did Coach Cal talk talk about the sickness and illnesses or viruses and the flu that has effected these poor guys the last two months ? Awareness needs to be raised. The toughness and bravery of this team..incredible.

Since you all are tired of Cal hopefully he will get another job so his replacement can be hired to bring in ****** four year players . We can slowly crumble like IU and become a has been like we were on our way to doing before Cal got here , will be fun .

what do you guys think has been the issue over the last 4 games for cal in reality for the most part?

They just seem to not have any rhythm as a team playing and seem to play one on one iso a lot like an NBA team instead of finding a flow in the offense and defense

Right now I really don't care. Cal is being held hostage by a bunch of kids AGAIN!
He has given the players too much freedom. No other coach in the country would allow these guys to just jack up some of these shots they're taking. Other coaches would put them on the bench as a motivator. Not Cal,that spot is reserved for everyone not named Fox, Briscoe, or Monk.
I don't agree with him being irreplaceable either. It's like dating a really hot girl who is screwing every guy she sees. Yet you tell yourself you'll never get a girlfriend as hot as her again. So you just put up with it.
You think Cal is the only coach in the world?
He has as many championships as Hall, Pitino, and Tubby. And he's had a ton of talent.
There are eight banners hanging in Rupp and one belongs to a Cal coached team. It took a player like Davis and an NBA lockout to get it. I don't see that happening again. As far as final fours they show his shortcomings more than success IMO.
He's a heck of a recruiter but past that it's all AAU ball and an NBA first program

Why do you have Fox listed there? He played a good game. He got some tough buckets, and even though he still could only play in short spurts, seemed to play very hard.

I've said this numerous times but I'll say it again. Cal always gets the best players. Either by luck by design it seems like he 'usually' gets kids that leave it all on the court and have the highest character i.e. AD, MKG, and KAT just to name a few. I love DeMarcus Cousins but he loses his mind sometimes-but he gave everything he had for Cal and UK. This year's players just don't seem to care if they win or lose and they also don't get the whole UK 'thing'.

I wasn't trying to take away from his play. Just stating that those three players aren't held accountable like others. Without Fox we are screwed but Fox has cost us this year with his untimely jumpers that he doesn't make. And Cal doesn't seem to have a problem with it.

Pffff. This team is not winning any titles playing 3 guards 2 of which can't shoot. Getting pounded on the boards and switching screens. Not happening.

The talented kids are not on the floor, the lineup poorly configured and the defense cannot execute its switching and help side bs scheme.

Who would you put in his place that hasn't cost us?

Also, Cal tells these guys to shoot, you can't bench a guy after encouraging what they did. We need Fox to feel confident when shooting that shot, not tight, he will never improve.

But who on this team has not cost UK at some point? You can't manage a team the way you are suggesting.

Certain guys get yanked because they didn't give effort for a rebound, or they totally botched the play that was just drawn up in a time out, or totally blew a defensive assignment.

I get that we are all frustrated, but I think we need to be honest about what we are criticizing.

What I'm saying is Fox has proven he can't consistently knock down a jump shot. And in several games that we are making a run to cut the lead or about to extend our lead. Fox will come down the floor and throw up a 20ft shot early in the clock. That's on Cal! I've got an idea, maybe Cal should STOP telling guys that can't shoot to shoot. Same with Briscoe last year.

Because Fox doesn't guard anyone.
Who is guarding anyone right now? Fox is the least of our worries.

Some of you guys want to just throw everyone out on the street and get new players.
Some want 4 year players, but in the next sentence, complain about Willis and Hawkins not being good enough.

I don't like this either, but I at least realize how hard this is and know that it's silly to try to make myself feel better by insulting 18 year old kids. If it makes you feel better to trash the kids on the team than be my guest.

The problem is the coaching, the hard headedness and the style that is being played. Cal is forcing a square peg into a round hole.

There will be a tweak right before tournament time, that's when fans like you all the sudden act like you loved these players the whole time.

Roster is flawed
Only 2 shooters in starting five
Instead of attacking north south we settle for 17' jumpers
Bam cannot finish
No rim protection
Talent nowhere as good as originally thought

Monk does it, Briscoe does it, Bam does it. It's okay if it goes in, but when it doesn't it looks bad.

But I think you should focus more on the rebounding. When the shot goes up, what are our other guys doing?

See, blaming the shooter is great, that's the easy thing to do. But when you truly analyze what's happening, you get a true understanding of the real problem. Nobody is putting a body on the other team. NOBODY. Missing shots is okay, the lack of rebounding is the problem.

Cal is not going to tell these guys to stop shooting, and he shouldn't. You can't tell these guys to score quickly, then turn around and say "don't shoot" . this team needs to get back to what they're good at, and that's running the ball down everyone's throat.

Again, Fox is the least of our problems, he played a great game last night.

Only two shooters in the starting 5? You have to be kidding, what coach would ever try to pull that junk off. That's cra cra.

So, half of us want to crush the team for taking jump shots, the other half thinks we don't have enough shooters? Got it.

I agree the problem is the coaching. That's what I'm saying. Don't tell a guy that can't shoot to shoot. Not right at critical points in the game.
I wouldn't expect a magic tweak to fix this though. These guys can't guard. They get beaten off the dribble every time. The tweak needed would be Install an offense and defense.
This three guard lineup with Fox, Monk, and Briscoe is killing us. Who's he going to replace? I'm not saying I have the answer I don't. But I didn't get paid millions of dollars to put this team together either.

Does Cal evaluate talent or does he rely on McDonalds to do it for him?
