That was one play. How many bad passes did Fox make? Willis was a net positive by far.Wilis shot well. He also gave up a critical offensive rebound to Jackson to push it from 5 to 7 late.
That was a losing play. You can't advance far when your Seniors make plays like that.

He was our best player tonight. He made a mistake or two but knocking him vs the other underachievers is a stretch.
Now tell me who played good defense this gameHis defense was **** but good 3s
One has nothing to do with the other. I didn't say Fox played well.
I said that Willis made a losing play at a critical time, as he is wont to do.
And it wasn't the only poor play he had. But I'm glad he shot well. That's what he's on the floor to do.
Yeah but he was guarding the benchGab...
This game was lost in the first half when those super stars reverted to AAU ball instead of stretching the lead. You are just parroting what the game announcers said. Anyone is a fool to blame Willis for the loss.
I didn't compare him to anyone else. You guys are doing that.
I'm just pointing out that he made mistakes that contributed to us losing.
A three point shooter hitting wide open shots in a six point loss doesn't excite me.

I get it and I apologize if I offended you. But Fox throwing it to the the other team 3-4 times with lazy *** passes doesn't excite me either. Willis has always caught too much sh*t. His defense is poor but his good outweighs his bad IMO. He played really well today and everybody says he disappears in big games. Not true.
You can't be serious...Fox's *** should have been on the bench the entire second half.Wilis shot well. He also gave up a critical offensive rebound to Jackson to push it from 5 to 7 late.

Yea right...outside the fact that without DW and DH you want to blame him not getting a particular rebond costing us the game...guess I will just consider the source. Pathetic.Somebody else bringing up Fox when I didn't. Considering the source, can't say I'm shocked.
Did the thread title change? Is this about Fox and I missed it?

I brought up Fox, not to compare but to make a point. People were crediting Willis on a good game. To jump in and point out 1 lapse is going out of your way a bit, considering the shat game others played.Somebody else bringing up Fox when I didn't. Considering the source, can't say I'm shocked.

While I agree that we would have been totally useless offensively without Willis, he played horrible defense, and at the end of the game, twice KU players took rebounds out of his hands and made baskets. Hawkins played well and Willis shot well, other than that, this game doesn't have many bright spots.
I pointed out one, but there were others. I don't really think a Senior who makes critical mistakes like he does should be heaped with praise.
I'm glad he shot well. We needed it. But we also need him to secure rebounds.
Let me just say that if I hit a bunch of threes, then gave up a key rebound and putback late In a 6 point loss, I wouldn't feel like I had a good game.
I've played with a few guys who couldn't wait to check the box score to see how many threes they hit, no matter how the game went. I thought they were all losers.

He had six rebounds.
I'm speechless.
Yeah, that's me. I'm done here. How's that? You one of those guys who is excited when you hit 5 threes in a loss?
Ok. He repeatedly makes mistakes that no senior should make.
He had a chance to grab a rebound against Vandy that would have sealed the game. Let a guy fly past him from the three point line for a putback.
I mentioned it at the time, just like I mentioned this one. No one cared that day, because we won the game.
The guy makes way too many losing plays for it to be a fluke. I hope he sharpens up, but it's probably too much to expect at this point in his career.
As long as he keeps knocking down open threes, he will help us. But we need him to stop making stupid mistakes.
And no, he isn't the only one making mistakes. But he is the subject of this thread, as well as our most experienced player.
