Same I’ll take our class over their class no question . They have a good class but I feel like ours is slightly better. Also the rankings doesn’t take into consideration that we got Nate Sestina.

I was hoping for this outcome. One of the last players available who could help UNC-CHEATS or KU.
It'll be interesting to see what Memphis can do. My belief it people who have accused Calipari of just rolling the ball out there will get to see what that really looks like. I know Penny has some competent assistants but there is a lot more to forging an excellent basketball team than people think.

Sorry just now saw it. Wow, if UK does play Memphis next year, it could be very interesting.
1 or 2 doesn't matter on the grand scheme of things. Though would be nice to land McDaniels just for bragging rights, it's not essential.

Houston is winning that league next year because they have a legit coach who knows how to coach college basketball.
They will be ranked top 5. They will lose 4-7 games. They won’t make noise in March.

I don't care at all about class rankings. I know what Cal can do with freshman. Plenty of skins on the wall for him. Proven performance.

They will burn through that mid-major conference but if they get to a regional final I'll be surprised.
With Wiseman, Jeffries, Precious and crew they will be a force. Penny obviously is doing well on the recruiting front. Let’s see how he coaches. I will not be surprised to see them win their conference and advance pretty far in the NCAA with all that talent.
Also if Tucker comes back DJ Jefferies is going to get lost in the shuffle behind Wiseman, Tucker, Precious, and Ellis. I’ll just hate to see him not get enough attention in that situation.
Penny is going to have the talent...interested to see if he can coach above AAU ball, because if he cannot they are not going to go far. That said, I'd expect they will get a high seed on talent alone because their conference will be dismal next season.
Now Penny won't have any excuses. Can he fall backwards to a title like Kevin Ollie? Or will he find out what Coach K is figuring out, winning with Freshman in March is tricky.
He has been loud and disrespectful about it...havent u read some of his comments since he took over? Be a little more humble about things.
One thing you can bank on. The selection committee will put UK and Memphass in the same region in the tourney next year. IMO it's an absolute definite.
That stuff doesn't bother me. It's what makes college basketball fun...be brash, put a target on your back, talk some trash. I love that stuff.
I have no idea how he will fair. I think he'll fair better than most believe. I agree that the pressure to win will be there, but I also think that's pressure you want as a coach.
If they had gotten Hampton that would have been an incredible team and hands down the number 1 recruiting class in the country. I'm not sure they downgrade a ton from him to Tucker if he doesn't go to the draft. Go ahead and write it down, UK will be playing Memphis either in the nonconference or in the tournament next season. We need McDaniels and Hampton!!

I bet the tigers play more as a team next year than the supposed best team in the history of college basketball, duke, did last year.
I still don't see how a new unproven coach in a mid major school like Memphis recruits like he is without some help. Cal recruited like that but it took him years to get to that level and he done it at another school first making the Final 4 before Memphis. Wouldn't surprise me in the least to hear of some shady stuff being done in a couple years with Penny and UM.
Given the conference they're in, their record will be inflated no matter what ... curious what their non-conf schedule looks like.

Let's be real here.... If James Wiseman is born anywhere in the country besides Memphis, none of this is going down (And Wiseman is at UK). They've caught lightning in a bottle. Like many on this board, I'll be surprised if he and has staff can continue this level of recruiting, especially after this year will really tell us what Penny's coaching chops are made of.
Except for the fact that Penny doesn’t have four final fours and a title. He has the roster now- let’s see what he does with it. I say he will never make a final four as a head coach.

Not blasted but some disappointment. The fan base isn’t fanatics like the blue blood fan bases and their standards aren’t as high. A elite 8 would do it for them
