Either none s available or they say it's for 1st responders...who all should have had theirs by now.
I heard on the radio (not verified) that they don't expect first responders to be completed for months.
I have talked with many people that did not get their second appointment scheduled the day of their first shot. They are not happy they have to keep calling to get the second one scheduled. I went through RWJ and they had the computer in front of me scheduling my second shot. My mother in law was one of those that got their first and does not have a solid date for second. My wife works for RU and most of her co-workers got their shot through Middlesex County BOH. They did not get second shot date.
This could be at the very beginning of a logistical nightmare. 2nd shots will rely on facilities available, supplit's on hand, patients able to get to vaccination sites, and staff availability. Any interruption of those chains will start a cascade of problems. Throw weather (like the snow this past week) and all hell could break loose. We lost two complete days of second dose, community and employee vaccination days this week due to the weather.
50 percent of from liners and health care workers refusing.
I don’t believe it, but it is a very convenient ploy to not have to go back to work
As mentioned, it's not mandatory (yet). The convenient ploy by the employer will be if you don't show up, you won't be paid. Do it long enough and you won't have that job any more. Eventually the bills need to be paid and people have to go back to work. I doubt there is a high percentage of people who can sit out and not earn $$.
