Just got my second dose of Moderna a couple of hours ago arm not even sore yet we’ll see how it goes as far as any symptoms. Just so thankful to have that second dose and hopefully they can start getting more and more out there and JNJ vaccine will be approved soon

Is the second dose supposed to differ from your first?

Had my second dose Saturday. Definitely more soreness with this one. The pharmacist said they saw more flu like symptoms with the 2nd, which was a common theme amongst my coworkers.

I've heard that the second dose is more likely to have side effects. First dose only produced a sore arm for me.

I'm going Friday for my second dose (Moderna). A little concerned about symptoms more than a sore arm, but sort of want them in a weird way, as it means your body is reacting properly.

My daughter got Moderna. First shot she was just fatigued. 2nd shot she had 103 fever for a day and a half.

I had my 2nd Moderna dose today at 10:45 a.m. My arm is definitely hurting more than when I had the first one. Very minor discomfort with the first one. If I was in a study, I would have thought that I received the placebo.

My second dose (Moderna) gave me aches, fatigue and low grade fever. Side effects hit me almost exactly 24 hours later and lasted less than a day

Second dose of both Moderna & Pfizer usually have more reactions to include:
Arm more sore
Increasing tiredness
Chills
Headache
Less frequent: low grade fever
(I had Pfizer and had all of these symptoms except the fever)

Not everyone has a reaction and, if you have symptoms, except for the arm soreness, they are usually gone within 24 hours.

First dose was mild arm soreness about 12 hours later. Second dose had similar soreness but also felt hung over (headache, tired) for about 4-6 hours about 24 hours later. Overall not bad for me, but people I know had anything from nothing to being knocked out for a day. Take it as evidence your immune system is having a strong reaction.

Some have reported increased flu like symptoms after the 2nd versus the 1st.

I went to the NJ vaccination site typed in my info and got, “Check back when Hell freezes over”.

Hell freezes over at vaccination sites towards the end of the day if younare lucky. Find out where they are doing them and either call or stop by near the time they finish. You might catch unused doses which would otherwise be wasted due to no shows. It never hurts to ask.

24 hours after my first Maderna shot, I called my brother and told him I hope they didn’t forget the serum, I feel nothing.
A got a needle prick and a bandaid.

My 87y/o mother can't get an appointment in Long Island anywhere. My brother & I have been searching daily for weeks. Either none s available or they say it's for 1st responders...who all should have had theirs by now.

They will text and email you first saying you are the list and then you will get a message ( I got mine a week later ) to click a link and a list of RWJ locations will pop up and you choose a place that has openings. I sent this to my friends and family a few weeks ago and most of them now have appts or already have received their shot. Another positive is they schedule your second shot while you are there. Some locations do not do that. Good luck

I haven't heard of any either. I was replying to someone saying the first shot is more important than the second shot.

For the Moderna 12-14 days after first shot you should have around 50 -60 % immunity. As for second shot it is 3-5 days after you should be 90-95 %.

I have talked with many people that did not get their second appointment scheduled the day of their first shot. They are not happy they have to keep calling to get the second one scheduled. I went through RWJ and they had the computer in front of me scheduling my second shot. My mother in law was one of those that got their first and does not have a solid date for second. My wife works for RU and most of her co-workers got their shot through Middlesex County BOH. They did not get second shot date.

RC, it’s very clear the second shot has to be scheduled within a strict time frame... Moderna is within 30 days, Phizer I think is within 21.
How could that happen?
