a 15 yr boys team in dallas wants their cut...

if they get the same cut %wise as the mens winners, whats the *****?

my guess is, the pie is a lot smaller.

glad they won, but didnt watch because of distraction numero uno.

As I was driving from one end of the state to the other I was reminded of "Nebraska nice". When I watched a USMNT gold cup game and USWNT World Cup games with folks at Barretts or Barchens we watched the games and cheered together. That's right, together. It wasn't about politics, but about winning (okay, and complaining about Zardes and Altidore I'll admit). Time to switch from USWNT to get ready to watch USMNT in the gold cup. Have a good evening.

So everyone on here complianing about posters who make sports political also complained about her when she literally made the sport political on purpose, right? You wouldnt have a double standard would you?

Of course you have double standards, because you agree with her. Shes the one that made this political and shouldnt be sheltered from the blowback. Its her fault. Blame her, not people reacting to it.

America. Greatest country on earth, not even close. Most free, fair, and equitable in protecting God given rights.

Glad the US was represented with a win. For the politics of the player(s) that made it about things off the pitch, that was a choice made by them. Once you express yourself, you are now open to have feedback, positive and negative. You want immunity from other people’s opinions of what you say, you’re in the wrong place, in the USA.

The team won, many to all will choose to go to the White House or they won’t. Good on them, they live where they get that choice. Might be good if we all step back and realize the freedoms we have and not the ones we see being taken away because we like or don’t like in a political office.

Rant over, if I earned a vacation, please send me someplace with a nice buffet and a decent bar. ✌

n 1936, Jesse Owens saluted the flag on the podium. The Germans wanted a propaganda plus by showing the alleged superiority of Aryans. Jesse showed a different color and proud national spirit.

Owens didn't go there to make a statement. He was the statement.

I hated the black power salute during the other Olympics but there have been many times when international competition was about sport where even an opponent's successes were applauded.

Throwing our Flag on the ground and dancing was disgusting to me, and then again i’m old. Thank God the 4th player in picked the Flag up. I think of raising the flag at Iwo Jima, the meaning of Francis Scott Key’ s Star Spangled Banner.

Rapinoe Might be trying to replace Colin kaepernick as Nike’s Spokeperson. The folks have no problem cashing their checks do they? It’s still the America they hate.

I long for more times when a spectator can just enjoy a given sport.

Let’s see the war protesters say they support to men and women but not the war, so I guess I support the team but not the women

When athletes and entertainers express their political views they open their selves up to criticism. I try to restrain myself, but when people disrespect the flag I have to speak up. I want to watch football I don’t need the commentators getting political or listen to music, I happen to like James Taylor’s music, yes I know he’s very liberal but he doesn’t get political or if so you don’t hear about it. Imo the women and the fans today just ruined a great moment for women’s soccer

How was the flag disrespected? Not being a smartass, I really didn't see any of the celebrations. The only picture I've seen of the celebration was one with someone holding the flag above her head.

One of the players was holding the flag and actually dragging it on the ground before the incident itself. She and two others went to pose for a wacky celebration pic and the one player chucked the flag on the ground as the other two then posed for their wacky pick with the flag on the ground next to them. A fourth player ran over and scooped it up. The other three minimum need to come out and apologize for being so stupid.

Googled. I didn't see any on-field celebrations or links to any articles mentioning any offensive celebrations involving the flag. I think people might be reaching a bit on this one.

You’re not looking hard enough..

Look for the one with the flag being thrown to the the ground.

As I told scarlet, I went through three pages of search results. Either you or him need to provide a link. Otherwise it seems as if you're making a big deal about something that nobody else thinks is a big deal.

Yes they do..Smokin

I have to say I’m starting to watch more baseball, they have a good commissioner and don’t get political, I believe one player tried kneeling a couple years ago and they put a end to it. Great for baseball. Just ask the Dixie chicks how getting political worked for them!

The MLB commissioner sucks. Not because of anything political, but because he is buddies with the Mets owners who were in bed with Madoff. The Mets owners are among the worst in sports with their meddlesome ways and penny-pinching. @yunginsNU2 can attest to that.
