Great job from Rapinoe and the rest of the ladies. This group actually makes soccer enjoyable to watch. It was awesome to see the swagger to almost border line cocky and was able to back it up.

The men's team should study and take notes.

Congrats. Made it thru a few posts before the discussion became political. Which is why I don't bother to post much here.

Well done, USWNT. I'm proud of everyone of you.

With all due respect, the players themselves made it political. They couldnt just play the game. They wanted it to be about themselves. Once they injected politics into, I think it becomes a fair discussion point regardless of which side a person may be on. Its their right to do so, but then its everyone else’s right to do so as well.

The name on the front means more than the name on the back. They seem to have forgotten about that.

The OP posted congrats to the USMNT for winning the world cup. And other posters including yourself made in political on this forum which supposably prohibits political discussion. If you don't support them them ignore the thread.

I for one fully support the ladies and very proud of there accomplishments.

Except that none of the people you are complaining about made it "political". A few expressed displeasure with a specific player, without actually referencing the reason for their displeasure with said player. My personal feelings towards said player are similar, though not for what I would consider political reasons. I personally couldn't care less about her running her mouth on that subject. I do, however, care that she seems to have some sort of problem with the country she supposedly plays for. There's nothing "political" about that.

The player in question started it all, political sense. How can anything disapproving of her actions and opinions be considered anything else? Only difference between her and the other political sports figure is he was a wannabe. I guess she's actually pretty good player. Wouldn't know. I don't watch soccer and she's one of the reasons I have not started

Nope, they have every right to there opinion and just discussing the sport doesn’t make it political. Just because it upsets you in your safe space doesn’t make it political bub.

Where exactly was I upset about anything here? I simply said it was a political topic which it is...

I have an honest question for those on both sides of this debate about these womens right to protest. If you saw one or more of them throw the American flag on the ground and start doing some weird celebration after a win, would you have a problem with that? I ask because that one player being talked about and a couple others did just what I described today. A fourth lady ran over and scooped the flag off the ground. Maybe they were protesting? Maybe they are just stupid and didn't realize you don't put the American or any other nations flag on the ground like that. It was incredibly disrespectful. That is my two cents.

I wonder if that one mouthy chick who whines about everything should consider taking the meeting with the most powerful man on the planet and take said opportunity to have a productive discussion about her latest *****, the equal pay thing? He might be able to help get her message out.
Never happen

What a great Championship! Love the toughness and strength of these women. They get pub for the attack but the D is very strong. USA USA USA! On top of that.. the Women also won the FIVB Nations League in Volleyball coming back and beating Brazil after being down 2. What a day for Women in the USA!
