Good list but Utah still seems risky. How much snow in Utah this year? My friends in SLC said Park City had practically nothing until a week or so ago. Also Solden Austria hosts the initial FIS races every October. Most years the Alps are no issue. This was a great year for snow there.
Besides having great powder, UT snow preserves gorgeously. Groomed snow better than Alps. That's been true this year - all snow so far came early, around holidays, but groomers still riding nicely as of two weeks ago. All resort terrain around me, including 02 Olympic downhill, is typically open by holidays.
Definitely a down Jan and Feb (so far) but would have beaten the past three or four Olympic venues for snow : ) 2010s saw three record/near record seasons at resorts and one separate crazy snowy year in the valley.
It's a pretty safe bet for snow, and they're gearing up for a 2030 bid anyway. Just opened the latest airport expansion.
One good point you touched on ...UT Olympic venues are all resorts with lesser snowfall numbers, like PC resorts. They should work the Cottonwoods with 500+ inches into the layout.
Europe's great, too, and agree should be an integral part of the future. More history of winter sport competition, glacier skiing, major cities close to the mountains, massive resorts etc.
They really need to do better increasing odds for good conditions in near and long term.
