I was a pitcher. If you want to say you need to know whether your starting or relieving, I agree. If someone tells you they need to know if I’m 7th inning guy or 8th inning guy to be successful that’s a load of bull.

This. You don't hear anybody complaining about that if they pitch well and get the job done. Excuses.

Didn't your very own Betances struggle with the setup role when the Yankees traded for Chapman 2 years ago? What did the media say over and over again? He needs to adjust to his new role in the bullpen. Did he just suck or the fact he's come around now due to the fact he's adjusted and knows when to be ready?

Another day, another roster move. Actually two. Kevin Kaczmarski and Drew Smith up, Paul Sewald and Chris Flexen down. Mets now lead the league in Polish Kevins. Also in D Smiths.

Kaczmarski reminds me of TJ Rivera is that he's never been considered much of a prospect. He's just hit everywhere he's been, and has forced the organization to keep promoting him. Hitting .363 at Vegas. Yeah I know it's Vegas, but still... Not a lot of power, but at least he's a right-hand hitting outfielder who is not yet ready to collect his pension. Mets did not have any of those. EDIT: I take it back - Kaczmarski is another lefty! Oh well...

Smith is one of the gaggle of relief pitchers acquired in last year's fire sale. Hopefully he will not make us gag.

I am sure we have not seen our last of Flexen, although we may have of Sewald. But Flexen did reach a milestone today before they sent him down. He got one out, bringing his career innings pitched total to 50.1. This pushes him above the 50 inning threshold for rookie/prospect status. So officially, Chris Flexen is no longer a prospect, and has been removed from the Mets Top 30 Prospects List (he was #9). While we commiserate his demotion, let us celebrate his graduation.

I don't understand how Robles stuck around this long? Mets bullpen is suspect because Sandy made decisions based on dollars instead of common sense. Then he tried selling the fans a sob story after he knew the transaction would fail all along.

Sandy Alderson should never work a Little League Concessions Stand ever again, let alone a front office job.

Epic fail by the entire Mets organization. Ownership is as bad as it gets. Management is equally awful. Yet we have Mets fans trashing the Yankees "if" they don't make WS. You can't make this crap up.

Lol, this phrase is really getting under your skin.Listen, they came within one game last year, brought up a couple of studs, and added Stanton. It's in the bag, a gaaroontee!! No worries.

Not getting under my skin at all. You are the dumbass that can't understand that pitching wins playoffs. Your team is the worst in the NL. Yanks will have to face 2 other teams that already have 50 wins so far. When will the Mets have 50 wins? Will they get to 50 wins??

Mets fan here. Mets suck ***. I rather see all over those Kevins, D Smiths, and other youngins than Reyes, Bautista, Frazier, Bruce, etc.

But I cant do that since Sandy ravaged the minor league system. It's so bad that they have two middling .500 teams (Columbia and Binghamton), their best team have a 6-2 record (Brooklyn), and AAA Vegas is impersonating the Mets to a T.

Will not give a damm until Sandy is gone. That is all.

Whitebus, I would really like your take on my post in the Monmouth Park thread about banning coolers.Big mistake that starts today, little warning for those that planned events this weekend. A real slap in the face to those who keep it a float. This will back fire on them big time. Anyone who has ever gone and seen how big a crowd there is track side, and how overfilled the watse baskets are with empty bottles who know there are tons of patrons who love the BYOB aspect of going to Monmouth.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but you're looking at the wrong metric. W-L is not how you measure success of your minor league system. Especially at the AA-AAA levels, which is comprised of 50% roster filler. (Not just the Mets, everybody.)

You measure the health of a minor league system by the quality and depth of your high-end prospects and how they are being developed. I agree Mets do not get good marks here.

Agreed but WHAT DEPTH???? WHERES THE STUDS??? All of the other orgs have them EXCEPT the Mets.

TBH. This years Brooklyn Cyclones looks pretty good so far and that was again a damm good Staten island team. But if the higher they move up, the more Sandy theyll get.

I’m a Mets fan so I don’t really care much about Betances.

Having 2 D Smith’s is consistent with their history They once had 2 Bob Millers.on their staff.

Vargas to the DL, which is good news. Callaway says he’ll wait and see how everyone feels tomorrow to name a starter. I’m assuming he means pitchers only.. but who knows. Can’t make this stuff up. Sounds like Little League. The clown show continues.

Callaway also said that Chris Flexen will be called back up, and he might start if he makes it to NYC on time. Not good when your AAA team is three time zones away in the wrong direction. That will be fixed next year.

[roll] Your team looks great. Get your own bus and sit in the back seat. Wear a helmet too. Your Mets are taking you on a rough ride again. Two lost seasons in a row. Only the AA minor league Marlins are keeping you out of last place. 12 games under .500. You must be so proud.
