I'm gonna have to go ahead and purchase MLBTV tomorrow. Tired of following these updates on the computer and not being able to see the game action. All while the MLB network continues to show the tight 8-2 game between the Cubs and Cards. You couldn't break away for the end of the Mets game?
Do you have relatives in NJ?
We use something called Vulkano, and we can watch live TV when we are on vacation on our laptops and Ipads. Sometimes we connect the Ipad to a TV and it works very well.

Hate to sound over confident but the Nats look like a defeated team.

And for my money, Harper is not MVP. Cespedes has done more to help the Mets in 35 games. Harper has come up small in this and the previous series with the Mets.

This team is insane!!!! They may very well be able to put a dagger in the Nats heart tomorrow.[/QUOTE
Winning tomorrow is important. deGrom on the mound.
17 remaining games against the Braves, Marlins, Reds, and Phils, but only 6 home, plus 3 home with the Yanks. Figure 12-8 very realistic. With a win tomorrow that would get us to 90. Do that and the Nats would have to go 19-4 to tie, which includes sweeping us the last three (hopefully meaningless) games.

Why do you have Rendon bint unless he was bunting for a hit? (I am in Georgia, can't see game). Familia would just walk Harper if the sacrifice is successful.
He was not bunting for a hit, he squared around and gave himself up early. Bunting was questionable, but bunting on a 3-1 count was crazy.

FWIW, Darling was surprised at the bunt but felt it made some sense because (in his opinion) there was no way that the Mets would intentionally put the winning run on base - even if he were named Bryce Harper. That is after all "the book", although it is no longer the gospel.

Gotta thank Kbee3 for trolling this thread early and often to keep in on front page. Anyone seen him lately?

Mets magic number is 19 with 24 games left. Assume they go 12-12. Nats have to go 18-6 the rest of the way to pull even with the Mets.

Need a good game from deGrom tomorrow. Starting pitching outside of Colon of late has been less than desired.

Yes, MLB TV is the king. Few years of wasted $, but paying off big time right now.

Because Williams is a terrible manager (not that I'm complaining). Since I live in the D.C. area, I've seen a lot of his moves, and he absolutely has no feel for the game. In his head, the percentage play to tie the game is to move the runner up, so that's what he decided to do. Rendon is #2 in the lineup because he can hit, not because he can bunt, and with a 3-1 count you have to let him hit. But Williams doesn't, and that helps the Mets win.

Cespedes dropped the "you must resign me within 5 days of the end of the World Series" clause. Smart on his part.

I'm not really a Collins fan but Matt Williams has to be one of the worst managers in baseball. He's been terrible all year but the way he mis-manages the bullpen and having Rendon (a very good hitter) bunt - especially with a 3-1 count - with the tying run on 1st and no one out, is absolutely amazing. He's gone as soon as the season is over.

Can u listen on radio-or radio on line. I could have watched last night, but chose instead to sit on the deck and listen on the radio(a crank radio no less, people get a kick when it needs a cranking).

Great win though, way to bail Harvey out, no one needed that story line today.

A win today is rather important, for the standings of coarse, but Mets also need their big pitchers to get rolling again.

Ha, I turned the radio back on when score was 7-2 and bases loaded. Glad I didn't turn it on 10 minutes earlier or I would have done the same as you.

I am naming my kids after Yoenis Cespedes.

I don't think my 21 year old son, a huge Mets fan will mind that his name is now Yoenis. My 17 year old daughter might object to being called Cespedes but that's just the way it has to be.

Can anyone think of a non Barry Bonds performance similar to what Cespedes is doing right now? I can't and I've watched baseball since 1978...

He reminds me of a pre hip injury Bo Jackson

The only parallel I can draw up is he's the Mets equivalent of the Islanders Butch Goring...the final piece to the puzzle that put it all together

I watched the game on ESPN but now it's time to go to Mets.com to hear the call of that bomb from Cespedes by Gary Cohen.
