Goal was defensive work. Makes more sense why the offense had little to no flow.
We will see how well this holds up.

Almost makes you wonder if Pope painted the narrative after the game.Goal was defensive work. Makes more sense why the offense had little to no flow.

Yeah 19 turnovers couldn't of been part of the keeping it vanilla plan. That sloppy play looked like last year. Not being able to break the press against a scrub team is not great.Almost makes you wonder if Pope painted the narrative after the game.
Nobody with a clue and truly gets Pope would. Dude lacks serious leadership qualities. Not buying that.
I want to believe him, I just don't. I'm going to continue to ride this 3rd year out, but I know that Pope needs to start being more aware of his flaws than he currently is, because if he doesn't and he does end up getting canned, it's going to destroy him.Nobody with a clue and truly gets Pope would. Man, that’s the odd thing with him. He’s SUPER hard-headed and unwilling to see or acknowledge his shortcomings. Just like the “my first two years were better than Cals last five” crap. True or not, it’s a really weak-minded narrative to try to push.I want to believe him, I just don't. Some of you are just miserable people.Nobody with a clue and truly gets Pope would. Dude lacks serious leadership qualities.
Rather than make a statement that does nothing to prove me wrong, please feel free to ad context as to what you think are his redeeming qualities as a leader of elite college athletes is. That actually takes a little bit of a thought. I could just reply “some of you are weak snowflakes”, but that’s kind of shallow, huh? Some of you are just miserable people.
I agree. But I’d still have preferred to see us running more stuff. The high pick&roll and Zoom action are staples in a Mark Pope offense. Didn’t see much if any of that tonight. So yeah, I believe him .
We will plenty going forward. Just trying to get guys comfortable in the exhibitions. Easy way to see weaknesses as well letting the guys just play unorganized essentiallyI agree. But I’d still have preferred to see us running more stuff.
43% from 3 thoughi guess this totally explains all the missed layups, missed free throws, zero transition points, and just 8 offensive rebounds while shooting so poorly.....
Even if he is being truthful about only running a few sets, the real concerning part is both of our starting guards looked terrible.Man, that’s the odd thing with him. My take is he’s got zero confidence in his own ability. The result is posturing. It’s a recurring trait in guys like that.
Me too . Surely he’s not going to keep things under vest until Kansas ,lolI agree. But I’d still have preferred to see us running more stuff.
So if Wilkins scores say 20+ and plays well next Friday what version will you say he is? And if zoom hits shots he normally does next Friday what will you say then? It doesn’t matter because it’s exhibition or they are inconsistent?Even if he is being truthful about only running a few sets, the real concerning part is both of our starting guards looked terrible.
Wilkins looked to be impersonating Jasper Johnson and Zoom turned the ball over too often and missed simple layups.
I don't care what you're running, those two guards need to be much better if this team is going to do anything at all.
yeah be we are the best in the nation at giving hugsGlad we didn’t take a summer trip to work on these things.
Man I really want to thump Kansas. Can't imagine losing to them and having Stokes talk smack on us.Me too . Surely he’s not going to keep things under vest until Kansas ,lol
