It depends how good Sarr is. I know he is talented and has upside, but an inconsistent OAD guy is not what this team needs. These foreign guys can be hit and miss. Coward checked all my boxes, but a bird in the hand...Now if both Coward and Sarr came then we'd be cooking.

If we were to get both, we would be automatic top-5 and final-four favorites.

There are still some really good portal combo guards n Small Forwards left. Why not go after a proven college player instead of Sarr?
I understand Coward was that player but Scheyer could have went after some other talented college players.

Don’t know the list of players coming back and available in the portal yet. Still some time before that will be official. But either way I would take Sarr over all of them except Coward.

That is a big difference. Both our recent final four teams had upperclassmen. We do have 3 sophomores back which I appreciate. Proctor or Coward would have been nice.

1 senior and one junior is too young. You need balance.

2014-2015 Championship Team had 1 senior and 2 juniors, Cook, Jefferson, and MP3

Starters:
Tyus
Cook
Jones
Winslow
Okafor

Bench:
Jefferson
MP3
Allen

Cook was the only upperclassman in the starting line up

And upperclassmen cost us the Houston game to be fair
A few of them had bad games, but there's plenty of what ifs, questions, and complaints to go around. Blew a double digit lead, had a 9 point lead at the 2? minute mark, and a 6 point lead with 30 seconds to go. We couldn't even inbound the ball.

So for me, the blame starts with Jon. He tightened up, and so did everybody but Cooper.

Jon choked at the free-throw line, made a poor inbound pass, got a dumb foul that resulted in basically a 6 point play?

There’s plenty to blame for the collapse at the end of the game, players and coaches. I think Jon should have had a better inbounds play, but the ball should have been passed in as soon as a player was open. Maybe a different player inbounding the ball. Hindsight’s 20-20.

Plenty of blame to go around. My biggest quirk was relying too much on 7 guys in the 2nd half and not giving opportunities to Foster (who was the aggressor in the 1st half) nor to Ngongba (when Maluach was not playing his best and Gillis was playing bad).

The guys who played the majority of the 2nd half were gassed thus leading to the poor decision making and terrible defense on the Houston 3 point shooters.

Coach Scheyer will learn from the loss, I have Zero Doubt about it.
