Well, to be fair, Bruno is a load. Could any team in the B1G stop him???Maryland scoring inside on our defense...shocker!

I didn't watch the game but did we really shoot 11 for 50???
At least Miles can shrug his shoulders and blame the players.12 for 57. Palmer and Watson went 2 for 23 on the night. 2 for freaking 23. That’s 8%.

Really what does miles have to lose bench plamer and Watson play a walkon12 for 57. Palmer and Watson went 2 for 23 on the night. 2 for freaking 23. That’s 8%.
And it’s 4-times the population of Iowa City.I love how people act like Lincoln is some boring college town. You have about 25 bars within a mile from campus, 30 frats to party at (if you are a girl) and tons of house parties...
Would be a home run hire but we aren’t getting him. We are likely destined for another mid major youngish coach id guess. But, trying something new and hoping it works out is certainly better than the crap that Miles puts on the court. If you guys want to see how team basketball should be played go watch Eric Musselman's Nevada carve up Colorado State right now. Wow
Yeah he's probably headed back to the NBA with another sweet 16 appearance. That or he could be Texas or UCLA bound.Would be a home run hire but we aren’t getting him. Not when he's allowed to just shove people covering him to the floor, and then stomp on them for good measureWell, to be fair, Bruno is a load. Could any team in the B1G stop him???
No it shouldn’t have been a charge. Classic flop. Man up and play D, stop trying to throw yourself on the floor to get a call.Should have been a charge, then a T against Bruno. Can Miles and the ref be tired in tandem?????
Miles is getting stuck every time he runs in the court like that, and he should, regardless of what happened.Reading comprehension is a useful skill. I said they have nothing to do with why we are losing. Shooting 11/50 would be a big reason for that, and a general lack of hustle and interest. Doesn't mean the refs aren't also screwing us. Couldn't care less about number of fouls or free throws shot. Free throws should be about twice as many, but the Fernando tackle and subsequent T on Miles for having the audacity to complain about it pretty much epitomize this game from an officiating standpoint
BS, that was no flop. The fact that you are chiming in on this, now I know the refs must have really sucked. Always gotta come in and defend your buddies. Yeah, I remember you from the past, always defending terrible officiating. Bruno threw an elbow into his chest and shoved him to floor, anyone that thinks otherwise needs their eyes checked.Miles is getting stuck every time he runs in the court like that, and he should, regardless of what happened.
The defender flat out flopped. I have no sympathy for the dunker coming down on top of him.

I have never seen a team miss so many open 5-10 foot shots. Never. Allen, Roby, Palmer, Watson...they all missed incredibly easy shots. Might be from only practicing 3s in warm ups and practice. I'm shocked we didn't lose by 30+ shooting like that.12 for 57. Palmer and Watson went 2 for 23 on the night. 2 for freaking 23. That’s 8%.
That would be an underwhelming hire IMO. I guess maybe being too familiar with him clouds my judgement but I question whether he can recruit with the big boys.Otzelberger at SDSU is another coach to keep your eye on. He was a recruiting machine as an assistant at ISU, and runs a lot of good offensive sets at SDSU. He learned under Hoiberg who was one of the better offensive coaches in the game. SDSU is averaging 85 points per game this year.
The last thing that the Skers can do...is hire someone that is underwhelming, again. That would be an underwhelming hire IMO. I guess maybe being too familiar with him clouds my judgement but I question whether he can recruit with the big boys.

The guy has won and he does know how to coach offense. The problem is that he has one of the best shooting big guys at his level and they still struggle when Daum goes cold. Dunno. I don't know who the better options we can get are who realistically would take the NU job.The last thing that the Skers can do...is hire someone that is underwhelming, again.
It can't be a "who" or "Well...he record as Podunk State was pretty good"

He recruited depth, he just didn't retain it. Jacobsen, Morrow, Horne, heck even McVeigh might have helped this year. That said, the shooting funk this team has been in is just inexplicable. I've never seen anything like it. I don't know what buttons Miles is pushing but they aren't the right ones.Bench them for....
Oh wait, I forgot...Miles thought it was wise to not recruit depth. Off to the summit league he goes.
But bad shooting is often the product of terrible ball movement and no movement without the ball. For a short time last night, Roby was active and worked to get himself open, and he made some shots. But soon NU went right back to Watson and Palmer dribbling, dribbling, dribbling, and more dribbling with no real purpose and no advantage gained. He recruited depth, he just didn't retain it. The transfer thing was in response to the idea that he hasn't recruiting enough depth. Those guys who left, there's your depth. So they left late, that means you're left behind the 8 ball to try to find other transfers or a guy who can play right away in their roles. I'm not minimizing Tim's culpability in any way shape or form. The fact is that we weren't able to replace Jacobsen, Morrow and Jordy in particular. That was on Miles. Jacobsen told an Iowa State reporter that he didn't leave because of Miles but that he wasn't ready to get in to why he left yet. I suspect that chemistry with Palmer etal was not good. Those players transferred many moons ago. Miles had the chance to land some potential grad transfers or another big in the offseason but he failed or didn’t think it was important.
Actually he did land a JUCO who ended up transferring months in. Also, we have been a bad shooting team under Miles nearly every year. Sooner or later it goes beyond just being in a funk and people are finally realizing that Miles has no idea how to put together a good offensive team.
I think during that 15-0 run by Maryland we missed 5 straight shots from inside of 10 feet by Palmer, Allen and Glynn. Roby got fouled a couple of times on put back attempts and didn't get calls and IMO it really messed with his confidence. IMO, the effort is there. The brains are not. This deal is almost entirely mental at this point. They’ve been missing easy 5-12 foot shots since playing at Rutgers but last night it was even worse..
