NO it's all good, provided we get TyTy back and Wheeler back healthy, it's ok. We will spank that LSU team by 20 later this year.

To have even had a shot with that lineup on the floor was nothing short of amazing to me. If we would've beaten them and the 3 officials, it would've been one of the greatest games to beat the ******** I would've ever seen!

I'd love to face LSU tomorrow, provided we have at least one of Wheeler or Ty for 32+ minutes. I think we throttle LSU whenever we play them next

You my friend has amazingly low expectations. Wheeler could have played. I question his cahoney’s. I’ve been caught on screens, it rings your bell, you go sit, drink some sugar water, see your team struggling and you get your *** back in the game. Refs aside, this game was right there. All we had to do was play smart. To score 2 points in a 10 minute span on the clock? It wasn’t anything they were doing defensively. One step forward, two steps back. Used to it.

Washington isn't capable of playing the point and it is unfair to him to be put that position. He is too slow and he is afraid to drive the ball. It is hard to believe that UK doesn't have someone else on the team who is a good ball handler.

Look, I don't know what to tell some of you. We go down the stretch down or primary and secondary ball handlers and playmakers as well as our secondary scorer on the road against a ranked team burning through time outs to maintain possession, free throws more than enough to win clanked, and we came up short a couple possessions with a chance to tie if our best player doesn't make a really boneheaded play just as he had come up with a hell of one.

This is called dealing with reality and trying to thespian this into some sort of debacle is complete and utter nonsense.

If we pulled this one out it would have been an absolute flex and we all know it. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades so no signature with an extra gold star or two but travesty it ain't.

Mad? It isn't even disappointing. It more falls into the unfortunate basket at the most.

We have a good team, potentially an excellent one is what I see.

We need our backcourt and certainly at least one of them and so probably does about every team in the nation and most throughout history too.

We still had a chance too and never quit. The overwrought drama queen sackcloth and ashes crap is a nonsensical and a weak tea joke.

No doubt we needed that win, we need them all but that doesn't throw reason out the window and is absolutely no telltale of disaster. More the opposite, these kids scrap.

Folks will feel how they feel so I cannot tell anyone how they are supposed to react emotionally but I can't validate those emotions in relation to this game, it is irrational and super soft, candyass frontrunner mentality to my perceptions.

Cal has done a great job since the loss to ND until tonight. Cal needs to trust his eyes. I am sure his eyes were telling him that Washington had no business playing point tonight but for some reason he didn't want to play Mintz at the position until he had no choice. Mintz may have made some mistakes but he at least was attacking the basket and not turning the ball over by trying to force bounce passes inside to teammates who weren't open.

Well, maybe you know more about how bad those injuries were for the players.

Wish you would've been Sam Bowie in that game at Candy when he got injured by the infamous Mike Rhodes. I stood practically within 30 foot of it when it happened.

You'd of popped right back without any hitch in the giddyup, apparently, and that would've been GREAT for expectations ! NO more injury, woosh!

As for me, I'm not going to question a player's injury out there. Maybe people question the fact I've got a brain tumor that gives me severe issues, that might be.

As for my expectation levels for this team it's very high, actually!

I'll say we're a sweet sixteen, maybe elite eight team this year, IF we can stay healthy. Maybe some luck and a final four? or even more? Dream big, brother!

Go Big Blue - Forever !!

We're not beating good teams when we lose 2 of our 3/4 best players. It sucks, but it's not a big deal or a reflection of what this team can do. To everyone ready to jump off a ledge, go ahead and jump.
I agree about beating good teams, but we didn't play a good team tonight. I have no idea how LSU is ranked 21. If we don't lose our point, we beat the crap out of LSU.

Very. That team is really average. We lost to an average team tonight. Couldn’t hit a free throw, stupid turnovers and I gotta question Wheelers toughness. You take a hit, gather yourself, get your *** back on the court. Don’t sit in the locker room like a wimp. Hell TyTy played limping, that’s heart. Disgusted just like I was against Notre Dame. This team **** it’s pants against another average team. Should be 12-1 ranked in top 5. I shudder to think what’s gonna happen when we go to Lawrence Kansas in a couple of weeks. Question wheelers toughness? WTF

According to you and those like you....it never is....playes miss the shots....players were hurt...players missed FT's....it's never his fault....he's not at Podunk U.....this fanbase used to have high expectations...now it's...meh we tried
I think Cal when 0-0 on 2pt shots, 0-0 on 3pt shots and I'm pretty sure he went 0-0 on free-throws. He also had 0 turnovers and played 0 minutes. So like you said players missed shots and players were hurt. All you can do is try to win the game

And Brooks plays 14 minutes and has 2 points. Brooks is who we thought he was. On the positive he did hit both of his FTs.

I'm sure that's what Wheeler did because he was scared to play against LSU.

Tonight we got to see how important Wheeler is, it doesn't do any good to get mad after last year, it's more like numb. I still think we have the better team but LSU would give their two front teeth to beat Kentucky and always play better than they are down there when Kentucky comes to town it's different. They pull out all the stops just like every other team does when Kentucky plays at their place. To overcome this Kentucky has to have overwhelming talent and we don't and haven't had in several years. Grady Toppin and Oscar were the only ones who fought tonight and that wasn't enough, there will be more of these losses on the road, it's coming.

I'm not upset about this game.

hate that we lost, but we're not going to win many games losing key players for long stretches at a time.

at the moment I'm happy with the team and what they've shown the past 4 games. Watch us beat Auburn to balance out the LSU loss.

its one thing to lose when you have good players that aren't prepared .

That wasn't what happened tonight.

Good teams don't have to be frontrunners. They find a way to win despite adversity.
True but losing ALL of your point guards would crush most great teams. Leading with 50 secs and chance to win is a positive and encouraging. Losing sucks but losing on the road to a top 18 team not having either floor general is what it is.

You don't think with better coaching the last quarter of the game we could have survived that with Mintz at the PG?

You are either trying to be funny or... Getting your bell rung is what they use to say when you were concussed and no one was smart enough or cared enough to realize just how serious it was. Wheeler should not have been allowed back on the court and if he had been, UK would have received serious blowback for allowing him back on the court.

Why people are calling out Ty Ty in this game is beyond me. He was steady with the ball and UK was up 9 while he was in. Grady, Toppin, Oscar and Mintz made the dumb TO’s at the end of this game. Not Ty Ty

Built the lead to 9 while Ty Ty was at the point. All went downhill when he went out. It’s obvious he is the better PG then Mintz.
Oh really!! Well, who was playing point when we made the run at them that could have won the game if not for someone losing his mind briefly and throwing the ball away for no reason? Who kept turning the ball over attempting to pass the ball inside when the entire LSU team expected it and were just waiting to steal the ball? Who was playing with confidence and didn't look like he was about to wet his shorts?

I am not calling him out. I am simply stating a fact. He isn't a point guard. It isn't his fault that he was put into that position. Anyone watching could see his teammates had no confidence in him in that position. They knew when Wheeler went out that they were in serious trouble. However, when you are playing a team that is as offensively challenged as LSU, we still should have been able to win the game. One approach would have been to put another shooter on the floor to open up things under the basket. LSU is so offensively bad, that putting someone on the court who isn't a good defensive player wouldn't have hurts us.

Kept turning the ball over? He had two turnovers in the game my man. You must have watched a different game than I did. Or you just know nothing about college basketball. Ty Ty wasn’t the problem tonight. ***** and moan all you want. You are wrong.

No. Since he turned the ball over twice as many times as Ty Ty, I do not. And there are no quarters in college basketball

Maybe a little, but not much. Wheller only played 3 mins, Oscar plays 10 mins in the 1st, then TyTy goes out with cramps. If we were healthy we win by double digits. Biggest disappointment is the FT shooting . can't win on the road short brix at the line
LSU was 8-15 fts so not much better. If you're a ff team , you win this game.

This is the key. They don't have to be a point. Just somebody that can dribble and pass and move without the basketball. No excuse for KENTUCKY not to have more than 4 players on a 13 scholarship roster that can do this.

How many points below our average were we tonight? Washington didn't scare anyone tonight but his on teammates. Point guard play requires getting the ball to your scorers when and where they want it. I don't recall Washington driving past anyone tonight however, you can't say that about Mintz.

Mintz can just fine, its not like we need a pure PG to score more than 2 points in 10 minutes.

I agree he can.

BUT tonight UK needed 3 guys on the court together that can dribble, pass, and get open under pressure and Cal couldn't provide that for this program.

Thot Mintz fought as well. Of course, according to some on here he’s not good enough to even wear the uniform.

He miraculously did lead the team in scoring

This team is far from good. Still have dudes that don't even know their roles. Down big late, and Keion is still shooting long 2's.
If the players don't know their roles, it isn't their fault. I remember the day when a team had several guys who couldn't shoot but they could certainly dribble well enough to play point. This is what happens when the focus is on recruiting stars (4 or 5) over what the team needs and can get.
