Hopefully, but I wouldn’t make sweeping proclamations like that. They’re all crapshoots till they prove otherwise.
There are but a few elite coaches that can get it done. Saban, Meyer, Aranda, Ruhle are those types when they get their system in place it takes a great team to beat them.
I'm old enough to have seen Bear Bryant, Paterno, Bowden, Devaney, Osborne, Switzer, Saban, Meyer. Who the **** wants to play them when the money's on the line?
Some of the greatest games I've ever seen were Paterno v. Osborne, Osborne v. Bowden, Saban v. Meyer, Devaney v. Bryant.
No matter how great the NU '95 team was, a matchup with those elite coaches (with exceptions, of course) was going to be a tremendous battle. Giants as head coaches.
The nowaday coaches, overall, pale in comparison.
