Morocco is a dictatorship run by King Mohammed VI. He calls all the shots and had to know there were tens of thousands of migrants massing to leave his country. The Moroccan Army stood by and did nothing to break up the party.
The King is a tough guy who has kept control over the jihadists. Now, he claims 48,000 of the 60,000 have been repatriated back to Morocco in one day.
Count me skeptical.
What is true is that the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, granted full amnesty to Spanish migrants earlier this year. Those folks often use Morocco as a transit point north causing major economic problems for the King.
Payback?
The Spanish army and police are tasked with rounding up the latest wave of humanity but don’t expect them to try very hard. Sanchez has embraced immigration chaos, and everybody knows it. Joe Biden must have a warm feeling.
The European Union is mad at Spain because once the Sanchez amnesty kicked in, the migrant newcomers could travel anywhere in Europe with no credentials needed. Just what most European countries need, right?
President Trump is down on Spain because it’s the only NATO country not paying its full share of dues. In addition, Sanchez would not allow US warplanes to refuel in Spain on their way to Iran and the Middle East.

Finally, I am wondering what Pope Leo thinks as 60 dead people are stacked in the morgue. The immigration situation in Spain certainly benefits hundreds of thousands of poor people who now have amnesty.
However, the economic and social price Spain will pay is staggering. Already, Spanish citizens are helpless as the socialists disrupt social order.
The Pope is a liberation theologian who prioritizes helping the poor - just as Jesus did. Leo remains largely silent when unfettered migration causes grave damage. As a Catholic journalist, interviewing the Pope is at the top of my list.
It will never happen.
In the meantime, migration from the third world will increase and dangerous situations will metastasize. Prayers are powerful, but they will not stop the poor from trying to escape their terrible situations, seeking refuge in developed countries.
