I believe I read where it was 53% non athletes to 47% athletes. I'm sure these percentages match the ratio for the entire campus...you're a liar by omission
The NCAA has now established a precedent that encourages the use of paper classes to help student athletes struggling with eligibility. There will be "NO" punishment as long as the entire student body has access. The limits of protection for certain universities knows no bounds. Here I thought NCAA stood for National Collegiate Athletic Association, but it actually means North Carolina Athletic Association.ARE YOU F*CKING KIDDING ME?

But they didn’t lack institutional control, the basketball team didn’t do anything that violated their own university’s policies or a set rule or law. To me, LOIC has always just been enforced as an add-on violation, you get hit with three other violations and they add it on as a reinforcement. This is the problem with a catch-all rule, especially in a case like this, selective enforcement. Don’t get me wrong, I think this is complete BS and their academic reputation and athletic accomplishments should be tainted but at the end of the day they were just more clever at cheating than other schools such as Louisville. If the UNC case doens't fall under the blanket "lack of institutional control" charge, where they can effectively punish you for anything, then the NCAA doesn't need to exist.
blueprint
Set fazers to "Sanctimonious prick satisfied being a fraud gloating from the bottom of a cesspool of THE BIGGEST CHEATING SCANDAL in the history of college athletics enabled by the media and governing body thinking his participation trophy means something" - Fire Fire Fire.....No. I am simply saying what ever lawyer will tell you, what the NCAA has now said, what individuals like Jay Bilas have been saying, etc.
This was outside the jurisdiction of the NCAA. There was no illegal "benefit" given to student athletes that non-student athletes did not also receive. I am sorry if you can't accept the truth.
I know it hurts that UNC beat UK and won the title, but that is sports. This deals with laws and the legal system, and the NCAA knew this was outside their jurisdiction.
They’d burn our campus downImagine if UK had done what UNC did...
there is another silver lining...The ONLY silver lining is that UL fans will flip the hell out when they get hammered. The city better be prepared for overtime for first responders.
Disband the NCAA.
Only bright side is that I'm sure this has made UofL fans even more angry/depressed.
counterpoint: to feel those things would require self-awareness which those smug jackasses do not possessthere is another silver lining...
without punishment the cloud will forever remain over unc. no remorse, no system changes, no self punishments. no growth. how can you bounce back from doing nothing wrong? they will remain where they are, and forever be tainted. championships don't change anything. they have 4 titles they never should have had. they are all tainted.
No. The same way UL fans rationalized dripping ceiling tiles at the Minardi bordello as being perfectly normal applies here as well. **** smells great to dung beetles.Do you think any UNCheat player or fan cares about titles being tainted?
Derrick Rose says hi.WOW everyone walks. Women's basketball, football and the NCAA's darling Men's basketball. One thought here ..Debbie Crowder admitted one basketball player was only at 3rd grade reading level. Well how in the heck was he able to pass a college entrance exam???????????????????
UNC created the fake classes....for everyone...in order to serve a specific "under-served" community. This is common at most universities these days. UNC did not exclude non student athletes so it was a systemic problem that had to do with academics....then athletes in that "under-served" community simply gravitated to them.
Derrick Rose says hi.
Again, if you would read the NCAA release, you would see that all students (student athletes and non-student athletes) took those easy classes. Indeed, a majority of those who took the classes were non-student athletes. The classes also were not formed to help only student athletes. Therefore, there is no violations of improper benefits to a student athlete.
This was always an academic issue. It was within the jurisdiction of the academic accreditation association, not the NCAA. And UNC has already been punished by the accreditation association. This was completely outside the jurisdiction of the NCAA.
Get mad at me all you want and call me names but I'm just trying to explain what is really going on here separate from the emotions of sports.
Six-plus years investigation for this lame dog and pony show?
@FrankUnderwood
Starting to believe UL not going to get near the punishment we all thought. NCAA going to feel the pressure with letting UNC off the hook.
The banners are safe for sure now, in my humble opinion.
I guess you believe OJ was innocent too?No. I am simply saying what ever lawyer will tell you, what the NCAA has now said, what individuals like Jay Bilas have been saying, etc.

The NCAA repeatedly sticks its nose into academics and eligibility issues, regardless of rules or precedent, any time it is a school not named Duke or UNCheat. Penn State and Memphis received a completely different treatment than Corey Maggette, Lance Thomas, and UNCheat. It is a corrupt and rigged system.Derrick Rose was cleared to play at Memphis by the NCAA and changed their mind after the season was over! Memphis was hammered not coach Cal!?!
So all UL needs to do is show non players were in the room with the whores and it will all be good?
