There are grade stipulations, why can't there be behavior expectations? Say one felony and you're out? One misdemeanor pass (plenty of good folks make mistakes, perhaps even Mixon?) and two you are gone. Yeah I know there are tons of variance in legal systems from state to state and the NCAA doesn't want to take on the issue, but something has to be done to bring some objectivity to it. Recipients of financial aid SHOULD be held to minimum academic and legal expectations higher than that on the general student population in my opinion.

That tape is bad. He likely had a legal defense but common sense says the general public roasts your *** for knocking out a woman (and I agree). They didn't want that tape out and he took his medicine with the plea.

No I didn't say that at all. He should definitely be allowed to stay on the team. I might suspended him a year and a half so it wasn't just his redshirt year he missed, but having adults whose job it is to discipline him around him and a team that will hold him accountable is better than throwing him on the street. The people who want that he never play football again couldn't give a **** about his past or future and are driven by a spirit of resentment, not a desire to educate or rehabilitate.

It's irrelevant what either thinks. People regardless of sex should not strike other people and if they do, the law should enforce it equally. Intent is a big deal according to the law. She shouldn't go unpunished simply because she isn't as good at inflicting harm compared to him especially when she both pushed and struck him as the instigator. Again, I'm not discussing the impact of his actions on the team, just how the law should treat their actions.
