Moreno has to situation. Are people so brain dead to fall for opened questions. Then some on line sports fool in need of hit make the head,Moreno Leaving UK?.. Then the same vomit come back with an anti pope post. My daddy always said follow the money. If you read it on here who’s getting paid. Not me, not you. UK moves basketball.
How much bourbon have you drank tonight?

Everyone knows he’s coming back. Pope, Moreno, recruit X.

The only thing this little draft buzz for Malachi will be is a tiny morsel of positive PR when he announces his return later this month

Look folks I know he isn't guaranteed 1st round material but perception is reality. If a potential recruit see there's an opportunity to play and get a bag then it helps Pope's chances.

Better than saying outright that you know Moreno is coming back 💯 % and you might not play much but come to UK.

I have proof of:

UK is not short on dollars
The going rate for top portal 5's was 4mm (Bidunga rumored at 4-5mm)

Bigs were in high demand this year, and given Pope doesn't have much behind him, I'm sure he's paying at or above market to get him back.
If UK isn't short on dollars, why was it widely reported that Pope is being given less to build his roster with?

Keyword there is rumored. That's not proof.

So show us some proof of this deal. ;)

Guys, a lot of you all are missing the bigger picture, MM isn’t going to stick around for this **** show, he will get a good offer from the league and they’ll provide him substantially better player development and RP will likely be our starter.

Let's see - it was stated that UK had the most expensive roster in the country last year at 22mm. Are they going backwards? Is the reason this year that Pope is losing all these guys money?

All it takes is one team to give him a first round round guarantee.

Fans are deluding themselves thinking he is not ready and will not be a first round pick even though the draft lacks quality big men, and the draft is a draft of potential.

Another thing to consider is Moreno knows Pope whiffed in recruiting, and the team will most likely not make the NCAA tournament, and he will see plenty of double teams. May be better to get out of Dodge.

And him staying in the draft would be a funny but fitting end to the off season with the way things have gone.

Hear me out...

What if Pope/Moreno are using his draft indecision as a way to better entice another big man.
Scenarios:
A) Moreno stays in the draft leaving a starting spot open. Plenty of PT and money

B) Worst case for a recruit he comes back and you split minutes or backup the center spot. Still opportunity and money.

Hopefully, Pope is using this potential bad news as leverage to sign a recruit. What say you?
And if he signs another center, he can get out of the agreement if Moreno comes back just like Acaden Lewis when UK signed transfer Jaden Lowe.

Supposedly, In order to help with roster construction Moreno agreed to a much lower NIL deal than he could have had if he’d entered the portal.

If Moreno is looking long term he probably doesn’t return. That’s going to depend on the advice he gets from the combine.

He is no where near ready for the NBA. So the question is, where is the best place to get ready? If you remove money from the decision then it’s definitely not to play for Pope in a non existent system and no known player development.

But you can’t remove money from the decision. He would simply make more money at UK next year than in the development league.

If it’s a money decision he returns.

Yes. It has been widely reported Pope isn't being given as much money for this roster.

Some of it is money. Mostly they just don't want to play for Pope.

Moreno would have been the 4th rated transfer on the market and was offered $5 million by some schools.

The money is better if he stays at Ky & goes in lottery next year. Plus living in LA or NYC is expensive opposed to Lexington. The difference could be as high as $6 to $10 million.
Do you believe he will be a lottery pick next year? Returning to school could potentially be more lucrative due to NIL opportunities; however, several risks remain. Factors such as injury, team performance, or a lack of expected developmental progress could all negatively impact his draft stock.

Plus he will see a lot of double teams with the lack of shooters and lack of roster replenishment thanks to Pope's inability to close on recruits.

He definitely would have gone for top dollar - he is Pope's most prized returner. If he wasn't being offered fair market to come back, he would have gone into the portal while exploring the NBA. He's being paid if he's coming back.

So show us proof of this deal. If he isn't good enough to be drafted or get a deal...how is he so prized and worth so much here?

Right, so he got less than is reported?

Do you know what logic is? Do I need draw it out for you?

I don't have "proof" of the deal - I'm not the kids agent.

He's prized because:

1) He's a home grown big
2) The supply on bigs is low, demand is very high
3) There is not backup plan
4) If he wasn't promised $$ by UK to come back, he would have simply gone portal to test his market value
5) It's late in the process now and UK should have plenty of $$ remaining, and likely has already carved out his.

Not even sure why you are doubting. Do you want him to go to the NBA?

Yeah, allow me to pull out the signed contract. It's a lot more fun exchanging with peeps that know ball than this.

You're gullible enough to believe one mock is gospel, and not smart enough to realize that the going rate for a Center in NIL can be higher than what he makes combined year 1 & 2 of a late first or early second deal.

Also not smart enough to realize the reason many are waiting till next year is because this draft is loaded and next year's is weak.

You said you could prove it. I am sorry you lied and got caught.

Lol, except it's not. You do realize NBA players are allowed to earn money other ways from just their NBA salary, right? Like endorsements, jersey sales and so on.

Lol, so why hasn't MM withdrawn yet? He is clearly interested in exploring his options.

Prove it, lol. It's all hypothetical at this point.

You realize that a college player can early Name Image Likeness via marketing? Do you think some bench rookie is going to earn marketing dollars? Lol.

You realize that part of what brought Mullins & Haugh back was exactly that - marketing opportunities. They are projected lottery picks and returning sophomores.

He hasn't withdrawn yet because he's going through the combine to get feedback and the cut off date is later this month.

You really are clueless. Carry on. I can't spar with bozos like you.

And when he announces he's back, you can come back and apologize.

Any talks behind the scenes of it or just wishful? Saw he’s projected second round, could definitely just offer him more money than what a 2nd rounder would make.
I have not heard anything about us being involved. I wish we would be though, he shoots at a decent clip from 3 as well. I have several names on my radar we should go after but at this point who knows the staffs plan. I know about quite a few Euro guys because the other schools I work with are actively after them as well.

Gotcha, definitely seems like the euro market is extremely dense, hopefully there’s still guys on the staffs radar that would be serviceable

OKC could take him with one of their first round picks and stash him at their Tulsa D league team or put him on their roster when they let Hartenstine go when it comes time for contarct extension.

There are several in the draft that will pull out, as well as guys who didn't declare who would be top players if they came to college. Time to get our heads out of our *** and land an impact type guy. The staff doesn't seem to be looking to do that but it is a huge risk and IMO its a must at this point.
