It appears there may now be an increased likelihood that he may not be coming back, which is very concerning. If he does not return, our chances for a successful season are seriously diminished. Prior to hearing this, I was comfortable in his being back and playing a pivotal role for the team, vastly improved, hopefully. This is now an alarming situation ... to say the least.

Still will be surprised if he leaves. These interviews give only 2 answers:

-I’m focused on the draft, maybe college if so and so
-I’m all in on the draft and won’t be returning to college

These guys are in the midst of a job interview essentially. They’re not going to say anything to impact that job interview process.

He still might hold our feet to the fire to bump his NIL package that he already agreed to. Could have a significant impact on our ability to pursue a “star” if we’re dipping into the bank again for Malachi. Curious to see it unfold.

It's like I'm a 6/7 and I'm talking to a drunk 4/5 at the bar and she tells me no, she's waiting for Brad Pitt to come in and sweep her off her feet.

This dude walked into Lexington as a promising in‑state big…and walked out of Year 1 looking like a first‑round prototype who doesn’t even need to scrimmage at the Combine because the NBA already knows what time it is! That’s Pope’s system doing exactly what it was designed to!

This will pay MASSIVE recruiting dividends in Year 4 Pope!

I think he’s gone. If teams are really loving his upside he’s gotta capitalize on that. If he comes back and has another mediocre season then scouts start to look at that more than his potential and his stock could suffer.

Moreno, isn’t a 3 point shooter so he would have to rely on his athleticism, strength. rebounding and rim protection to contribute in the NBA. If he stays in the draft he will spend time in the CBA next year. Needs to go back to school and work himself into the lottery. I would rather be picked 8th next year than 25th this year and his game needs so much work. Going into the NBA unprepared to contribute in the NIL era is a poor decision.

Of all fanbases in America ..BBN should know better by now that you don't have to be NBA ready to get drafted. Baffled by the ones saying he isn't getting drafted because he isn't ready.
Exactly.

Another thing that I've considered is that MM literally grew up watching all of our one and done players. It's reasonable to think that he has been dreaming of being a one and done himself for years...just like is basketball idols.
