And you're a full schollie D1 P5 player..? These players need to learn in practice about a hostile crowds and the best way to beat them is to beat their team. And then run into the tunnel and go enjoy the victory on the road with your teammates. Poor coaching and it shows poor character on the players part and is a black eye for the University. I guarantee you'll never see that happen on GS's team
I agree that Miller shouldn't be mouthing off to refs. I completely disagree that Miller's behavior was a sign of poor coaching.

Miller's a freshman and was immediately pulled, talked to, and sat after the T. When was the last time you saw an RU upper-classman get a T for mouthing off to the refs? I've seen nothing at all that says poor character about Pike or any of his players.

Miller will learn. He's probably already learned and won't make the same mistake.

The purported post-game Harper incident is hearsay, at least insofar as what's been posted in this thread. I'd have to see actual evidence of what took place before, during and after, before discussing it, let alone judging him for anything.

Son, only in your world. Without knowing results from transfer portal how can you predict next year? I’ll wait to reserve judgment until a few games into next season.
Agreed...but the track record ain't great...let's hope that changes .. we'll see

Don't you love when a ref under the basket calls a foul from thirty feet away when the ref 10 feet from the play sees that there was no foul? And Geo was between the shooter and the ref who called the foul so he could not see if there was contact. Did he anticipate the foul? Did he call it because the shot was so awful, a line drive with no chance to go in?
Do these guys get graded on their performance?
Who reviews the officials?
Does the Big Ten ever refuse the use of incompetent officials?
That's what jumped out at me about the call. It wasn't that refs to make. He didn't have the angle and the other ref is right there

Right JY, Yebowah we’re key pieces 2 of last 3 years.
Gettys before that

The difference this time is we been alpha scorer type in the portal vs a role player to compliment Geo and Ron

We can offer a lottttt of shot attempts and playing time

If you know Coach K please do and share his winning insights with Pike. Pump in tons of noise and hostile insults in practice like the football team does, and have them be taught about it by their coaches or a sports psychologist on how to handle it...or preferably both....are you sure you have a Rutgers degree...pretty easy to figure out.
I was being sarcastic.

Ehhhh I don’t think that was the case here. Shouldn’t had even been a T. He wasn’t really that animated.

I thought our bench would get one with how hard they were collectively chirping at the ref nearly every possession
Exactly. I only saw one replay and couldn't make out what he said. But he wasn't animated at all and the T was called. I wonder if the T was another one of the questionable calls which seemed to be greatly favoring the Corn Huskers. Official tainting? Maybe the refs had bets on the game.

Coach never gets a T so when one of our players gets a T - which is quite infrequent- it should get the team focused / inspired etc.

For those who don't think RHJ isn't a NBA player he just showed that he was tonight.
Several flashes of brilliance but spent most of the game playing like it didn't matter. Your prototypical NBA player.
Nope. Good college player not athletic enough as a 3 and not big enough to play the 4. If someone can name a current NBA player with similar game I’d love to hear it.

RHJ is slow and not very athletic. Might get a seat at the end of some bench where one of his dad's old team mates or buddies is a coach.

oh, my bad. I think Geo is a better prospect and JY the best prospect of the three
And why is that, because he brings it every single game at home or on the road. JY plays with tremendous passion all the time, that you don't see from the other two.... Bringing your top effort all the time....

no, not passion. the difference you see much more athleticism than those two guys. Geo has the size to at his position to compete in the NBA, perhaps like DiVincenzo from Nova but not the athleticism. Harper doesnt have the size or athleticism to be a frontcourt player in the NBA.

Agree, and combo of both. JY better athleticism AND wants it more.

I watched the call a couple of times. I don't think there would have been a T if Mag didn't aggressively pull Miller away. Not blaming Mag he did the right thing. The ref inserted himself into the narrative of the game and didn't want to be upstaged. He called a questionable foul and then a ridiculous T. From the replay it looks like Miller said something along the lines of " not a foul he pushed me"

Why do you keep insisting Cliff is gone when the mods have said he loves Rutgers and isn't leaving?
to piss you off.....no, seriously my take on it is Pike needs to hit a grand slam (not a hr) in the portal or he's gone. Also, we have 4 guards as coaches and his lack of offensive development shows. Better programs than RU are going to come calling as they see him as low hanging fruit. Purdue is a perfect example, they go with a 2 center set and Williams graduates. They're big men improve every year and he'd be going against Edy in practice the next 2 years vs Reiber. Which program offers a better shot for him to play in the League and Purdue is an excellent University. And that's just 1 example of dozens of potential Tourney programs out there who could reach out to Cliff.

Perhaps they've never played competitive sports with refs or officials.
A buddy of mine who won a Gold Medal with Team USA Baseball (he's now in his 40's) is a top ump in the Southwest. Does every major Vegas Tourney, PAC 12, etc. When we get together we talk baseball for hours on end. He is amazed at the HS level how stupid coaches and players are for challenging umps, even in State Tourney games. PAC 12 ball is way more disciplined as only the elite .005% of HS players get to that level. When I coached 12U baseball in the Albuquerque USSSA League, they have a Code of Conduct agreement every coach, player and parent must sign that only the Head Coach (me) was allowed to talk to the umps...not even my 3 assistants were allowed to speak with the umps and certainly not my players or their parents. I left players home for doubleheaders because their parents (not the kids) were yelling at the umps during games. Even had to cut a player once to cut his parents. Had the 100% support of the President of the League to do so. Kid was a decent player, good kid, who unfortunately had dickhead parents. Respect the position...not necessarily the person.

Gleason has shown he can develop qbs. And we are 1 of 2 (with UCF) in contention for a stud qb from FL in class of '22. We land this qb our qb room is much stronger. Pike and staff have not shown they can recruit multiple bigs at the same time or develop them.

And look at the offensive supporting cast GS has landed recently both from the portal and HS recruiting...and GS is not done. Do you have the same confidence in Pikes recruiitng ablity both from the portal and HS recruiting to surround Cliff with transfer and HS studs like GS has done for RU and Wimsatt....I don't but that's just one man's opinion.

I hope Pike proves me wrong, time will tell.
