Ehhhh I don’t think that was the case here. Shouldn’t had even been a T. He wasn’t really that animated.

I thought our bench would get one with how hard they were collectively chirping at the ref nearly every possession

Mag seemed pretty animated when trying to restrain him there, so I’m guessing whatever he said was probably a step too far. If he’s not an unknown freshman maybe doesn’t get T’d up there. But he needs to realize he has to keep his mouth shut in that situation.

Sorry but that's something a player just can't do and there isn't an official in the NCAA or even HS basketball that would let that slide.
It would slide if it was a big time veteran player . Geo probably gets away with stuff like that all the time , especially with a ref that he knows for 5 years . Someone like Garza would have gotten away with it too.
But the thing is …that call isn’t gonna get made on a geo or Garza in the first place. Because the call was “********” to begin with

This is what I hate about these refs t’s. Did he say something im sure , yea. But they compound a bad call by being ultra sensitive and t’ing someone up. Have to allow for some animation and emotion. Can’t always have rabbit ears
I can see your point where that happens a lot. We've all seen that. But I don't think that was the case here. He let him say a few things, one of our guys tried to wake him away and then he cursed. Not having the benefit of having the game on tape but if you watch it again I think that I'm right.

Maybe so but you can't tell an official that his call was "bulls**t.
ya except most of their calls were just that. One of the worst officiated games of the season. Bryce was getting the GIANNIS treatment and that final play???????????????????? Harper's first and third fouls were BAD. On the third you can see the ref wasn't even watching he saw the reaction of the player.

It cost us one crucial point in a tight game and it could’ve been two if the guy made both. That was the impact of the T. Can’t have that.

On officiating in general this was a horrendous game and you would hope a ref would show sone discretion with the T in the waning moments of a close game. But no. But nothing as bad as that phantom 3 shot foul on Geo when he literally never touched the shooter. Three offensive fouls on Ron? And he was never fouled in any of his shots in the paint?

Seemed to have wake up the team. How many times has Juwan or Fran done it to wake up their team?

Miller did what we all wish Pike or someone did. Finally someone gives it back to the refs on this team. Tonight was a historic BSing by the Big Ten refs against RU and so thanks goodness Miller did that. Everyone else was just whining after every call, Miller finally showed some balls and it Lit a fire under Geo, Mag and Ron and maybe propelled us to victory

That's coaching at this level.... inexcusable.

He did say the word bulls**t. You can see it on the replay.
I am sick and tired of refs using the game to protect their image... football refs do not call penalties because someone complains.. however colorful the language.

I say allow kids to object and it won't build up so much that they explode with profanities... but if refs ever deserved that.. these refs did and proved it with that last call. They just did not call the same things on both ends.

So many times.. this described my reaction..

I can see our whole bench watching the game and thinking the same thing.. then it happens to Miller and he reacted... that particular call was marginal.. but so many before that were like.. well, you didn't call that when they did it...

IMO.. the way things were going.. Pike should been T'd up.. maybe in the first minute on that first call.. because.. well.. see the GIF above.

So a substitute freshman needs to ignite the captains on this team to play with fire in their belly.
