Colandrea will be a very average WB. We needed a difference maker QB transfer and, of course, we whiffed. Colandrea has been a turnover machine at his previous stops. Going to be a long year.
It would be nice if we had a coach play to our teams strengths instead of playing a player because he has a single digit, or because Rhule has some weird emotional ties to a specific player.

But remember that "Bo couldn't recruit" that was the mantra of all the Bo-haters.

David will be in the HOF
RG was a first round pick (almost)
I think he still has a DT playing in the NFL
Collins is still playing at a high level.

Bo struggled to recruit and develop offensive tackles and QBs. He recruited a JV QB for godsake.

We don't have game changers on defense. Offense will have to carry this team.

We need to run the ball control the clock and get Colandrea out of the pocket. Anything to keep our defense off the field. Basically we need to play like Minnesota, but I have zero faith in Rhule to get that done.
That is literally how all the Big Ten teams play except for Indiana, OSU and Oregon.

All the rest are just trying to hold on to the football, eat clock on offense and on defense just play 2-3 deep all game and hope the other team ***** up.

Tmart
Armstrong (was he a Bo recruit?)

How did Bo win all those ******* games with no good QB's and no good recruiting.
Sure, i'll give you Armstrong. One QB recruit in his entire time at NU is not something to brag about.

Same with his awful OT recruiting and development.

The Bo thing gets WAY over-discussed. Bo had weaknesses and I don't think he was the guy to get us to the promised land (natty). His behavior was embarrassing by the end.

But let's get real. The guy won 9 or more every year, developed the greatest Defensive player in history (and so many NFL'ers), he won a Conference Championship that the suits in Texas stole from us, and Bo was Lombardi in comparison to the trash coaches we've had since.

We done?

Yes, my parents bought me membership in 2002 for my birthday. I started paying for my own membership in 2006.

Again you newbie husker message board members do not have a clue what an amazing community that used to be.

Now we resort to calling people with differing views Iowa fans. The state of Husker Fandom is at it's lowest point going back to the 1950s.
That was a nice gift from your mommy and daddy. Do they still pay for your Netflix and cell phone.

We would get blown out by teams that are leagues better than us.

Now we get blown out by teams that are leagues better than us and lose to low-mid tier teams, with losing streaks to perennial powerhouses like Iowa and Minnesota.

Should we get another Bo-type coach or get someone with actual developmental experience that didn't flop in the NFL?

WR's disappointed, but a lot of throws were just as bad. This game was kind of a nothing burger until the run game could get established. Colandrea is gonna have to reign in his mobile throws. Lateef and Kaelin disappointed. Ja Rule did great.

Thats really about it.
Rein in, like a horse.
Kings Reign.
Making a joke, kind of.....

So Tmart and Armstrong, I think Tmart was even named all conference, first team?

And he put, I think, 5 OL in the NFL?
Again, Martinez wasn't recruited as a qb, and played most of his freshman year on the scout team as a wr and safety. Carl Pelini was his primary recruiter.

I was a huge Bo fan when hired and by the end I was off his wagon. I don't want another Bo. But on this board I see the back and forth and everyone seems so black and white (He sucked and here's why! Or he was the boss and here's why).

Dude had a ton of success for us. A ton. And he developed some really good players. That said I think he topped out and good teams had his defense figured out.

Doesn't that make it MORE impressive?

He was recruited as an athlete that played QB in HS, then spent a year practicing on defense AND then become a first team all conference QB.

BS. He was recruited as a QB. He also played QB on the scout team. His athleticism allowed him to play other roles. Who are you?
He was recruited as an athlete by Carl Pelini. I'm telling you for a fact he didn't start playing qb until the end of his freshman year on the scout team. He started at wr, moved to safety and finished at QB.

Did you watch practices that year? I was lucky enough to watch two spring practices and multiple practices in the fall.

Ron Brown was best friends with my coach in high-school. My coach was also huge with FCA that gave us special privileges with Tom Osborne and Ron Brown.

The only school that recruited Taylor as QB was Nebraska. So, yes, he was originally recruited as a QB by NU. He probably wouldn't have come to NU otherwise. Now, what they did with him on the practice squad during his true freshman year is irrelevant.

That poster acts like Tmart was told "YOU CAN'T PLAY QB AT NU" by Bo.

Wasn't he like a 4 year starter at QB???

No, he was recruited as an athlete, just like every other school recruiting him. We told him he would have the opportunity. Acting as if Bo knew he would be a stud qb is the dumbest thing I have read here in a long time.

I can't wait...Hopefully it is not some lame *** tired coach. Please go talk to the Indiana asst coaches. See if one of them is interested. I know fans will lose their mind because they are young and have not been a head coach but rhule is old and has been a head coach and he can't do it.
Long 2 seasons ahead of you. He is not canned next season

I didn't watch the Spring game, but do you really think this team is better? What, .. like if they replayed Utah we would only lose 44-29 instead of 44-22? It was less than 3 months ago and we still have pretty much the same stupid staff. I dont buy it. Let me know when the boys get rid of their x-box's, ps5's, pipes and vape pens too.

To improve significantly, they would have never stopped practicing and we all know that wasn't the case.

Yeah, I'm not buying any bullsh-t this offseason.
What ******** though? This is the quietest off season in years?
