So today I started seeing all these tweets coming across from Rebel fans with "#TheNetwork". I understood they were mocking something but I didn't know what, so I searched the hashtag and saw a tweet from Ross Bjork and then an article that linked to a Coach34 post on another site where he's talking about Ole Miss's supposed recruiting methods and calling it The Network.

Is this what inspired the entire Rebel fanbase to tweet about it today, or is there something else that I'm missing? Are all of them, including the athletic director, that worried about one post on an Internet message board? Seems silly to get worked up over a troll on a rival's message board.

Seems pretty silly to make a troll account that lasts for one post on a rival's board...

It was on Reddit the last two days. Also the Oxford PD are now tweeting about it in a joking fashion.

Coach34 must have dropped his tinfoil hat. He posted this long crock of BS about how there is this vast nationwide Network of rich Ole Miss alums who seek out and find highly rated recruits and pay them to visit Oxford.

It was just nutty. TSUN fans are having a field day about it.

It will go away, but paranoia is not a good trait for a mod. That guy needs a Guardian.

I don't know about that. UMiss fans can get pretty nutty and desperate themselves when it comes to recruiting. As a matter of fact, they get full-blown creepy. Some sort of network established by them wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I don't know whose dumber:

1. The guy with the all too obvious but overblown conspiracy theory.

2. The fan base who gets way too much entertainment about having a conspiracy theory made about them.

Or

3. People like me who get entertainment out of 1 and 2 doing their things.

The best part of this is that it drives the Bears crazy. Not to mention it's probably
Mostly true.

It doesn't drive us crazy, though. All of my friends love it and think it's hilarious, actually. Some guy on rivals is even making shirts with #TheNetwork on them. But the thing is, i honestly don't see it as a reverse dig at MSU. It's a reverse dig at Coach34 for being a Nutt job (pun intended). That guy really is off his rocker and is truly obsessed with ole miss. I truly mean that. He can't pick fun and go then go on his way. He's got an unhealthy addiction to MSU/Ole Miss hatred.

That is because if it's one thing Ole Miss fans love it's attention.
Edit. I do agree that 34 is a clown. It's almost scary. But yall do love it.

I would say Om fans are obsessed with C34. Had I (or some other obscure state poster) written that post, there's no way this blows up like it did.

I agree with this. And I have examples!

As much of a nutjob as C34 can be, there are ole miss people that stalk his every post. There was that ole miss fan that sent that crazy email pretending to be him. And the fake letter that spelled out his name or something.

ole miss fans make C34 crazy, but that also gives him the opportunity to do crazy things and make himself more popular among his disciples. He legitimately seems to get under the skin of many of the bears.

It absolutely is...
I've known more than a few kids they've recruited over the past 10-15 years and all the stories you hear are for the most part true

That's a lie. You know Billy the Bear is upset about it. He gets upset at any dig at Ole Miss. There's a guy in town who proves that, constantly.

If he lives inside their heads, and in turn they live inside his head, which turns into him living deeper inside their heads, which causes them to live even further into his head... at what point in time does a black hole form and transport them all to another dimension? Or has that already happened?

Yes, it's what inspired the rebel fans to tweet about it so much. Funny thing is... Coach 34 is correct in his assumption that there is a network of UM fans around the country doing that very thing. I don't know how strong and how much it actually exists, but it's there and they do a hell of a good job at it. Obviously, they know that if they can get a recruit to come to Oxford that weekend, the entire fanbase is going to be in on getting those recruits to commit. I wish we would get on board with doing the same.

On a second note, I think it's hilarious how worked up that fan base gets over social media posts. It starts at the top with Buck tooth Bucky and their feeble athletic director. It's very strange indeed. Coach34 is just a message board poster no different than you or me.

Good post. I haven't read nor care to read C34's post. But is the premise of C34's argument that the alumni/fan base is "organized" in this black market?
If so, isn't that like saying, "I've discovered that the earth is round"?
Does C34 plan to use the RICO act to bring them down?
Are those that respond upset that the common person may finally learn the truth about TSUN's recruiting success?

I'd agree with you although Wess is literally sending him every Ole Miss meme in the planet everyday. Of course Wess is my boy and we like to talk/joke about how much he does get under Billy da Bear's skin. However, "The Network" thing is hilarious. How could someone (Coach34) be so paranoid??

You and I joke around at times about Ole Miss/MSU, but it never gets bad. Hell, I laugh at most of the things yall send me. It's sad that Coach34 has NO sense of humor and takes everything about college athletics WAAAAAY too seriously.

While I agree that we should be doing certain things that are necessary to recruit well, I am not so sure I want to do things the same way Ole Miss does. They really buy into perception, and while good at that instant, it typically wears away. I prefer our 'what you see is what you get' method, it attracts guys that truly want to be at your school, and that has been proven with low attrition and minimal off-the-field incidents, at least under Mullen.

They have had a network for years. I am not sure about a National network but they sure as hell have one in Mississippi. I found most everything he wrote to be accurate and he and I rarely agree on anything, but this time he nailed it!

I don`t want to rock anybody`s world but it wasn`t too many years ago that we had a very effective "network" of our own.

Is Chris Jones one of C34's sources for his post?

You know, we did send him to Oxford during his recruitment to dig up dirt on the Bears so we could then use what he uncovered to bring down their program. Chris is apparently a hell of a double agent.

His sponsors must be elated.** There's only so many times that C34 can prove himself an idiot before people stop paying attention. For me, it was about 3 months on this board.

Plus, if he's drawing in TSUN traffic, he'll lose his target audience, much like he did on this board.

Hold the damn phone a minute. I've probably not posted here for almost two years (17 you, I've been busy) but we have people just now finding out that Coach34 is a nutjob?
