You really expect him to name names? Really? Now, that's "looney". C34 may not be 100% accurate but some of his points are valid. Your adamant denials and self-admitted lack of knowledge don't correlate. You are the one with the theories because you are implying the Ole Miss grads act logically. Since you had so many questions, do you really think that Ole Miss has one of the top lists of visitors in the country from all over the country and they are not doing anything outside the norm and/or illegal in recruiting? Talk about swamp land for sell. I have heard specific stories that are logical. Do I want to tell "HunterDawg" names on the internet? Uhhhhhh, no.

When have I said they are not doing anything outside the norm and/or illegal in recruiting? It is obvious they are cheating their asses off. I am just saying this is not the way they are doing it. Nobody is sending out large numbers of alums with orders to offer stacks of cash to a large numbers of recruits they don't know.

That would be probation suicide.

It is dangerous for us to talk about doing it. It might cause some of our alums to start passing out sacks of cash. That is my concern.

You're welcome to think Starkville is just as great as everywhere else, including Oxford. The opinions of people who aren't State fans (including more publications than i can remember) differs.

Hey thanks!!!! Your opinion and concern are truly important to all us here

Exactly, and the funniest part about the SI article to me

is that some of those so called connections are not really connections at all. A guy that plays for a high school which has a single alum that attends Ark St where Freeze happened to coach a few years ago? Seriously? That's a Kevin Bacon level connection and if that's all it takes to qualify, then we've got connections to kids in Asia.

Point being that it shouldn't take a brain surgeon to read that article and then connect the dots in order to figure out how the kids ended up actually signing with OM. I think it's hilarious that folks and media bought into the crap that Freeze put out there when he was asked to explain how they came up with that class. I don't hold anything guys that model their lives after god more so than I do nor do I poke fun at the ones that don't miss an opportunity to let you know about it. One thing that absolutely does get under my skin, however, is a hypocrite and Hugh Freeze is a flaming one.

So marketing Starkville as "Starkvegas" and "Mississippi's College Town" isn't a ploy to convince people outside of the town that it's a great, fun, party place? The problem with that marketing scheme is that it's obviously not true, and people see through it once they visit. People go to Oxford on a recruiting weekend because they want to have fun with a big crowd of people. There is usually a big basketball game along with this weekend, which also brings a crowd. The university nor the football program have ever advertised a big recruiting weekend to get people to come and convince these kids of anything. People go simply because they want to. The same reason the square is packed every weekend that school is in session.
