To me the difference is Stevens was a career backup, Costello has started a ton of games. Threw for 3,500 yards and 29 TDs in 2018.
I won’t make any grand predictions about what Costello would mean for our record or if he would have the same level of success in the SEC, but he is far more accomplished prior to transferring than Stevens was. That much is not debatable.
My two cents - I think Costello would immediately make MSU a problem in the West. I think without him, State will probably have an adjustment period in 2020. With your schedule and returning talent, you can still certainly win 7 or so games, but with Costello a couple likely losses all of a sudden become winnable. He’d likely throw for 4,000+ yards.

Leach ain’t ******* around. We win 8 games at least with Costello. He’s a first round draft prospect and leach is a wizard with QB’s.
Seems pretty ignorant to be negative about this and compare it to the TS situation just because they would both be products of the transfer portal. When are our fans going to realize nobody had the chance to be successful at our program while Joe Moorhead was the head coach. Yeah we brought in guys like TS and Zuber that didn’t necessarily work out, but that doesn’t mean everyone in the transfer portal is going to be a bust.

If anyone said Tommy Stevens was a first round draft prospect as a redshirt senior that had never started then they **** for brains and should never be taken seriously again.
Who is the dumbass on Twitter commenting on tweet that Costello is apart of saying we don’t need a QB we got plenty to choose from??? Our idiot fanbase is not doing us any favors in possibly signing probably the highest rated QB we’ve ever had on campus.

Wow. Palo Alto California vs starkville. Talk about a damn culture shock. If he considers us its for one reason - Not to play in the SEC but to Play a year under Leach.
It’s not like he’s is coming from a different country good grief. If he is truly here to play football he shouldn’t care about how great the night life is.
This would be an absolutely HUGE get. Every season passing record would be shattered going into the egg bowl.
