To me the difference is Stevens was a career backup, Costello has started a ton of games. Threw for 3,500 yards and 29 TDs in 2018.

I won’t make any grand predictions about what Costello would mean for our record or if he would have the same level of success in the SEC, but he is far more accomplished prior to transferring than Stevens was. That much is not debatable.

My two cents - I think Costello would immediately make MSU a problem in the West. I think without him, State will probably have an adjustment period in 2020. With your schedule and returning talent, you can still certainly win 7 or so games, but with Costello a couple likely losses all of a sudden become winnable. He’d likely throw for 4,000+ yards.

So, with all that said, y’all shouldnt sign that kid. Think of the locker room!!

Leach ain’t ******* around. We win 8 games at least with Costello. He’s a first round draft prospect and leach is a wizard with QB’s.

Seems pretty ignorant to be negative about this and compare it to the TS situation just because they would both be products of the transfer portal. When are our fans going to realize nobody had the chance to be successful at our program while Joe Moorhead was the head coach. Yeah we brought in guys like TS and Zuber that didn’t necessarily work out, but that doesn’t mean everyone in the transfer portal is going to be a bust.

Yeah because one transfer that doesn’t work out means the next one won’t either. Dumb take by the naysayers

Who is the dumbass on Twitter commenting on tweet that Costello is apart of saying we don’t need a QB we got plenty to choose from??? Our idiot fanbase is not doing us any favors in possibly signing probably the highest rated QB we’ve ever had on campus.

I'll never understand this mentality. I don't care how good we think our QBs are, if we can get a better one, we 17ing need to do it. And I have serious doubts about all of our QBs except Shrader, I only have regular doubts about him.

That place is filled with mouth breathing Neanderthals and old geriatric 17s that don’t have a clue looking for guidance from a former Junkie turned Sports novelist that likes to preach to others about how they should live their life. Sorry if I don’t take life advice from you Rosebowl. Also if you could bat above your 17ing weight on your predictions that would be great. $1 a month is too much.

You let the Coach do what he was hired to do and that includes bringing in the people he feels he needs in the system he has ran for decades.

Wow. Palo Alto California vs starkville. Talk about a damn culture shock. If he considers us its for one reason - Not to play in the SEC but to Play a year under Leach.

what is he says is "Do you want to lead the nation in passing" ? Most qbs do. You only have to look at Gardner Minshew.

Leach knows Costello well from pac12 play. If he like him as a qb, thats good enough for me.

It’s not like he’s is coming from a different country good grief. If he is truly here to play football he shouldn’t care about how great the night life is.

You could have given Moorhead flippin Patrick Mahommes and he couldn't of schemed up 4k passing.

This would be an absolutely HUGE get. Every season passing record would be shattered going into the egg bowl.
