Yeah, I don't appreciate being called out. And if he came to visit, or you for that matter, talking is all it would be. I truly believe most folks would never speak to people in person the way they post on here. That's the difference between me and most. What you get from me is who I am every day and I don't treat people any differently here. Cincy here has been calling me out on this, I believe this is the third time. It's a bad idea to call out anyone here but especially bad to do it to a moderator.

Wheeler may have quit. It certainly appears more likely now than not. I am not happy with him. That's what I will say. If I could talk to him, I would ask him about it, heart to heart, if he would tell me. I have no clue if he would give me the time of day, but I'd love to know his perspective. And I would have compassion on him whatever the answer.
And the second paragraph is all I was asking for. Again, there are people openly insulting you in this thread, and I am not one of them. I simply tagged you and asked for your opinion, considering the fact that Wheeler did not play again, after saying himself that he would be playing.

I understand we’ve had some issues, but you’ve misinterpreted my post. I wasn’t demeaning you. Genuinely looking to see how you currently feel. And I tagged you because sometimes we don’t see you for a while after losses.

Who cares about what Matt Jones says?

FWIW….. I thought he quit on the team over playing time as well. Hopefully I was wrong.

I'm with you...is there an alternative to Matt Jones and the ksr clowns for pre and post game call ins?

I don't believe it. Why would Cal want to be liable for a player and pay his traveling expenses if the player has quit the team? Cal has done a lot of stupid things, but I believe this is even beneath him. Also, why would Wheeler want to be around the team if had quit?
He let Sharpe sit on the bench all year. Anything is a possibility now.

The “I’m a mod” flex was pretty funny.
I just said it's unwise and a bad idea to do it. But note, he's still posting. So, not a threat, just advice. It's good for some of you that I have a little more grace and patience. Some of you would go on a banning spree, I do believe, leaving only those who toe your personal company line.

But hey, I tell you what, call out a couple of the other mods and see what happens. We could look at it as a science experiment.

Look bro, I have no problem with you. But you’ve literally said you just are another poster here who just happens to be a mod, so treat you like one. I wouldn’t ban anyone, except that clown kwilt.

You said it STL. Re-read what you just wrote. All I said is that it is unwise to call out a mod. And yes, I am a poster who also happens to be a mod. I have banned a regular here who continually attacked me personally. I'm very unlikely to ban any regulars. I've banned 1 regular poster in my entire time as a mod, I think it's been nearly 10 years. But if you take the same approach to others, it's not likely to be a happy ending. That's all I'm saying. It wasn't just a "flex." Do you think it's true or not? Maybe you disagree.

We hadn't noticed some mods having a thin skin and a power trip. Thanks for the heads up.

Yes, if a mod wants to get into the fray, they don't get to threaten in any way. I've had that discussion with Rowland. Either stay out of it or set aside your authority in those threads. There is no other fair solution.

People don’t remember what they say. When people talk down to other people and then act like they didn’t is the problem.

You can’t love a player when beating lesser schools and mock posters who think the same player(s) won’t play well against better competition

The purpose of playing cupcakes used to be to play to gain experience and team chemistry. Now people use beating cupcakes as a barometer

The problem now is many posters think that a good performance against cupcakes equates to a great player

Faster and bigger will beat slower and smaller. It’s like when my older sons pick on their little brothers. Picking on someone less than you doesn’t make you tough or better.

A lot of our fans don’t understand this.

Touch'e BigBlueFan, very funny. The reason you haven't noticed it is because there aren't any thin skinned ones. Then again, if you call them out and tag them in threads intending to correct them or force them to answer you, you might find out most wouldn't appreciate it. So, perhaps it's not a matter of anyone being thin skinned. Perhaps it's a bit more serious than you let on.

But here again, find a post by a moderator that you don't like or disagree with, quote it and tag them in the post. Now, do that 2 more times on the same topic if you don't like their answer and see the reaction you get.

Good grief. The kid was hurt. He was hurt so bad that not even a family member could represent him on Senior Night. They were at his bedside after his emergency life threatening surgery that same day.
I went to same high school as him. (I am way older) Family is a mess but he is one of seven kids.... His brother plays on the high school team with my next door neighbor...

Players first, program last
Cal needs to go.

I love Edwards' game and think he might be a future NBA All Star, but Cal has already added 9 NBA All Stars to UK's lore. Another one won't help us win a title, not with Calipari.

This is the same Calipari who could have had Brandon Miller and Nick Smith instead of Sharpe and Livingston. And no, I don't think Miller gets involved in criminal activity if he comes to UK.

Yep, and I have. I've banned or warned exactly ZERO people in this thread. I agree. It's the only fair solution.

But you should know, despite Cincy's protestations, I wasn't "in the fray" in the threads where I was being called out. I may have given an opinion earlier but I wasn't arguing the point. Cincy didn't like my opinion on the issue and wanted me to eat crow. He's called me out here for that purpose. But, as i say, I haven't banned him or anyone else.

What I don't buy about "fully quitting" was that Wheeler was fine being a backup for almost a month. Which just seems weird that he's fine to do this for several games and all the sudden he's mad? But his starting job was yanked from him, and it didn't seem to be a factor so long as he was healthy.

Just seems like he'd have quit from the start of this.

There should be no reaction other than the same as any other poster. You dont get to have your cake and eat it to. There's a couple I dont get along with. I dont change what I have to say just because someone is a moderator.

I've never had an issue with you. You behave as a moderator should. I would be hard pressed to ban someone. I dont even put people on ignore.

Life threatening tail bone surgery?
Maybe not life-threatening, but if the rumor I’ve seen a few times is true that his “tailbone issue” is the he had a pilonidal cyst removed, then that’s legitimately a procedure where it could take up to a month or two for him to be able to return to strenuous activity afterwards. It’s hard to ever say though, because we hardly ever get updates that someone is going to be out for extended times up front. We’re always just hearing that they’re day-to-day and want to be back soon, and then suddenly it’s been a couple of months. It doesn’t seem to happen like this with any other program, and it’s easy to see why rumors get started in such an environment whether they’re all true or not.

I’ve always thought that too, but I’m sorry, these Calipari cult weirdos need to be outa here. They’ve made their position known, and it’s anti-Kentucky. If I were a mod I would be banning the guys that are here to defend Calipari’s product over and over and over. Like this Sejonesy character. Gone. He’s not concerned with Kentucky at all.

This Jamal Sunburn character. Nasty little guy. Just threw Oscar under the bus to make it appear it’s not Calipari’s fault.

Oscar?

I’d ban him.

I think at this point when it’s obvious you’re drunk from Calipari’s cheap charisma and vote to turn UK into Syracuse or Indiana to save him, you need to be banned. No reason for you to be here.

The puff piece Kyle Tucker wrote about Wheeler coming back a week ago now looks bizarre….(don’t know if anybody else has an athletic subscription) Tucker with his sources insisted Wheeler was playing in the NCAA tournament.

Tucker isn’t in Calipari’s graces anymore. He began to question him to keep some credibility and it looks like Calipari is now giving him shaky information.

Calipari is a NUT. get him outa here.

Don’t believe it at all. If there was any way to quiet the smoke about wheeler it would have been announced. The timing is not a coincidence. And Calipari allowed people to think he quit because he couldn’t make up a diagnosis.

It’s just too easy to see it

I won’t believe a word that comes out now about an injury. Calipari is a liar. If there’s not a medical report, I won’t believe a word of it.

Let me make one more comment here folks, straight from the heart, and you can take it or leave it, and most will leave it, whatever. @CincyUKFan @Gromcat @STL_Cat @BigBlueFanGA

After a long day, with a meeting that forced me to miss the 2nd half of our game, and dealing with the fact that my team lost again, which sucks, and then a 2 hour youth group meeting with 25 teens, i get home and I get on this board to check to see if any moderation needs to happen, and what do I see? A personal call-out wanting me to eat crow about Wheeler. So, I not only have to deal with the loss, I have to deal with attacks from my own "friends" on a message board. This is the big happy family, eh? I guess asking for a little understanding is too much, eh? I can't even get any consolation from fellow UK fans. I've got family members gloating over the loss and I come here for a reprieve and some comrades, but it's a call-out. Yep, it struck me wrong. There it is.

@IL Wildcat i can understand. Been three weeks of heck for me. This board is a place to enjoy basketball.

This is what I worried about. 6 months of griping and moaning.

I tagged you. I asked you what you thought about the Wheeler situation now, as he sat again. Another dude literally said that Duquesne would grab Wheeler and that you’d be modding this board and the Duke’s board. That seems insulting. My post was not. You merely took it as a call-out.
