I would be more impressed if he talked about what he's going to do as senator as opposed to just bashing trump. What's his position on immigration and those in the country illegal, where does he stand on election integrity, what is he going to do about lowering prices, etc....

I personally think the democrat strategy of a platform of being anti trump is not a good idea. But, that's just my opinion.
Got it. You’d be more impressed if he was MAGA.

How does Ossoff compare with the guys you support?
to tell you the truth, I don't know what his policies are. From what I have been able to determine, he pretty much follows the Democrat line. I haven't found anything where he "bucks the system"/ Now admittedly, I don't live in georgia and its too early to worry about presidential politics, So other that the "fawning" on here I haven't paid attention to him.

In fact, it seems as if he is one of the crowd in Democrat politics. I haven't seen anything that separates him from other democrats.

Did you look it up?
well, he's being touted as presidential material, there aren't any platforms for 2028 campaign yet. But I did look up Ossoff's Senate history. And, as I posted, I didn't see anything that jumps out that's significantly different from the democrat Senate mainstream.

This is getting tiresome.

We live in an era where politicians have to raise money. Much of that process is what we used to recognize as bribery and improper, prior to the Supreme Court and Congress making it legal. But making bribery legal doesn't make it OK or honest.

If you are going to compare and contrast the sources of income for Ossoff and for Trump, or for Ossoff and whoever he's running against, great. Do that.

If you are just going to beat the bribery horse without any deeper thought, you've done that.
I didn't begin the "bribery" position..you did.

I posted that I think using the term "bribe" is improper. I just don't think you can use the term bribe when talking about politicians accepting PAC money and, at the same time, talk positively about a senator that takes PAC money and exclude him from the category you created.

And, I'm not comparing or contrasting sources of income. I know where the money comes from....and as long as it's legal, then I don't know what we're talking about other than your use of the word "bribes".

You apparently consider poltical donations as bribes. I tried to point out something different. You have your point of view I have mine

He said no one even knows who he is 😅
well, to be fair, he's the senator from Georgia, not a national figure yet...so I guess trump might be partially right. Most people who don't follow politics, probably don't know who he is. If he decides to run in 2028, he likely will will become better known

Trump called him " Pinky Herman" last nite at his rally in Georgia.

I know he probably means Pee- Wee,or
Is he doing a bank shot anti- semitic reference to the cliched rich Jewish guy with pinky rings?

Joking...trump never goes subtle when belittling his opponents.

"But what does this really mean? Isn't it possible, nay, probable that they thought they were donating to someone else? What even is money? Isn't it just a construct of the human imagination? In a thousand years will anyone still be talking about Ossoff? I'm just asking questions here. In this light it's all meaningless."

Ned, probably.

Cash on hand Ossoff = $46 million
Cash on hand Collins = $2.1 million

The RNC has conceded this race

well there is that....but, seemingly some people's campaigns sometimes fall apart when they're confronted by past positions. we started out with about with about 29 candidates in 2020...Ossoff seems to have as good a chance as anybody at this point. He's not a household name like fetterman or Sanders (who likely won't run again) Warren AOC and some others, but sometimes its the darkhorse who wins.

Suggesting an equivalence between Nazis and Democratic Socialists is deranged or evil. Take your pick.

More a matter of who the DNC will permit to win. Ossoff shouldn't have a problem.

to be 100% honest, if it weren't for you, I wouldn't know who he is
That's odd because I see him being talked about nationally on all networks. It's also surprising that you don't remember how hard Trump lobbied for his opponent, David Perdue, and what a surprise it was when he lost, which set off another round of maga cries about a stolen election, second only to the cries about Trump.

sorry, you might see him often, I don't> If you asked me about nationally known democrat senators I would list those I did maybe add Kelly, kaine, van Hollen. But I have seldom seen Osoff. I just noticed him the other day asking a question at a hearing, but that's it.

I don't mean that negatively, and it might well be in his interest to avoid the spotlight on what might be perceived as some of the "radical" Democrat positions. I haven't seen anything from him about the DSA..you?

I don't know if he's answered that question directly and I'm not sure it would be in his best interest to disavow them, but I know for a fact he wouldn't be in favor of their more extreme policies. He didn't even support the Green New Deal.

Shi.tty framing Growls when all this means is he voted against the Big Beautiful Bill in large part because he wanted to extend subsidies for the ACA so people wouldn't go without healthcare. I bet you didn't know that or care did you, you were just going for the sound bite.

"Ossoff and Democrats describe the same bill very differently: as one that cuts Medicaid, pressures hospitals and nursing homes, fails to protect or extend enhanced ACA premium tax credits (leading to higher insurance costs for many), and prioritizes tax cuts they say skew toward higher earners while adding to the deficit.

"Ossoff has actively pushed to extend the ACA enhanced subsidies/tax credits precisely to avoid premium spikes.

So the “$2,100 tax increase” line is not about labeling a vote to extend subsidies as a tax hike. It is the standard partisan framing of a no vote on a tax-cut extension package. Both sides are talking past each other with different definitions of what counts as the relevant “tax” or cost increase (income-tax rates vs. health-insurance premiums and program cuts)."

You just acknowledged that you don't care that the rich got richer and a half-million Georgians lost their healthcare. Ossoff cared which should have been the headline.

"More than 500,000 Georgians have lost their health insurance coverage following the expiration of enhanced federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) subsidies, reflecting a sharp 37% drop in state marketplace enrollment."
